Upgrade Procedure

Upgrading from: 5:
There is no upgrade path from versions prior to 5.0 and so the software must be installed by running a recovery disc. You can download a recovery disc containing this software from
Avolites Website.
Please follow the instructions given when downloading the recovery disc to install this version.

Once the download completes, run the installer on the console and follow the instructions.

- Loading show not presenting error report:
Sometimes if errors ocurred while loading a show the console would not present these errors to the user. - Motorised fader update when changing page:
If you changed page on a console with motorized faders they would not always return to zero. This depended on whether a handle was present on the new page. - Cue numbers with 3 decimal places get truncated:
Using cue numbers with three decimal places would result in a truncated cue number different from that specified. - DMX nodes not being displayed:
Ocassionally when you loaded a show the DMX view would show no nodes attached. The nodes were present but they were not displayed. - Copying fixtures cells removes DMX address from source:
When copying fixtures which contain cells the original fixtures would lose their DMX address and the original would need to be re-patched. - Loading large shows would timeout:
When loading a large show it would timeout and incorrectly state that the show have failed to load. The show loading speed has been increased as well as stopping this from happening. - Delay entering times and attribute times menu:
Sometimes there would be a long delay before the times and attribute times menu would open. This was in the order of 20 seconds. - Large shows not loading correctly:
Very large V5.0 shows would not load correctly into V6. This has been fixed. - Console would not shutdown:
Sometimes the console would not shutdown correctly and would ask the user to force shutdown. This had no adverse effect on the console and has now been resolved. - Upside down second screen:
When connecting an external monitor the screen would sometimes appear upside down. - Palettes on celled fixtures:
Sometimes when applying palettes stored on celled fixtures the applied palette would not output as recorded. - Cue list copy ignoring tracked value:
When copying a cue list the tracking information was not being copied correctly which rarely resulted in the cue list outputting incorrect levels. - Changing IP address stopped Art-Net:
Changing the console IP Address would stop Art-Net output until you refreshed the settings. - Autosave disabled lost after restart:
The autosave enabled setting would sometimes reset after restarting the console. - Patch view failed to initialise:
Sometimes when opening the patch view window you would see a failed to initilise error. Re-opening the window would fix. - Record by stage on celled fixtures:
Record by stage would not record fixtures where only the master had intensity. - Colour wheel shapes not working:
Shapes that used a fixtures colour wheel would not run correctly. - Update personality and user number selection:
After you updated a personality for a fixture you were no longer able to select that fixture by user number. - Ocassional pause in shapes and pixel mapper:
Very ocassionally and after a while of the console being on you may see a brief pause of around 500ms in all shapes and pixel maps. This would more often than not appear when firing or killing other playbacks.

- TitanNet:
It is now possible to distribute DMX processing over networked nodes and the total number of available lines has been increased to 64 when using the TitanNet system. The limit for a single console remains at 12. You can assign lines and view information about the status of connected nodes via the new 'TitanNet Overview' tab in the DMX Settings window. Available lines are shown on the left side, available nodes in the centre and information on the right. Select a line followed by the lines section of a node to assign. Touch a node to view information such as IP address, number of available slots, number of lines assigned and load. If more lines are assigned than the maximum number of slots a warning will be shown in the node and node information. Use the tabs at the top to switch between TitanNet and DMX node assignment screens. If a show is loaded that had fixtures and lines assigned to processing nodes that are no longer available a screen will automatically appear detailing nodes in use, available nodes and provides the ability to reassign. - Patch View:
There is now a dedicated patch workspace. This provides a way to patch, review and edit all in one space. Functions include patch, repatch, legend, renumber, invert and swap pan/tilt, freeze, exchange, park and view fixture. The patch view can be filtered by type and/or line (including parked). A usage bar at the top of the screen makes it easy to see how much of a single universe or all universes has been used. Line usage according to fixture type filter is represented as a bar meter on the line buttons. This provides a way quick way to see which lines contain a particular fixture. It is possible to select fixtures, exchange or set the next free address by clicking in the usage bar. Each fixture type is represented with a unique colour. Information in cells can be edited directly by clicking on them or multiple items can be edited at once by pressing the context 'set' button. Non-sequential items can be selected by holding down the ctrl key. Cells can also be navigated using the keyboard cursor keys. Sort options are available in the context menu. The personality list will show recently used fixtures at the top. - Fixture View:
It is now possible to view information about patched fixtures. Press OPEN/VIEW followed by fixture handle or press the [View] button in Patch View. This will show details including legend, name, manufacturer, model, mode, handles, address, channel mapping including offset and actual address and dip switch settings. It is possible to directly edit invert and freeze options per attribute. - Cue List - Move in Dark:
Comprehensive Move in Dark (MID) functions are now available for Cue Lists. These can be set for the whole cue list and overridden in idividual cues.
The global options are:
- [Disabled] prevents all MID functions for the particular cuelist regardless of individual cue settings.
- [Early] will attempt a move as soon as possible unless overridden in an individual cue.
- [Late] will move as late as possible unless overridden in a cue.
- [Off] turns off move in dark unless specified in individual cues.
The cue options are:
- [Global] will use the cue list global MID setting. (Default)
- [Cue Number] specifies a cue that you would prefer the MID to occur.
- [Cue Offset] sets a preferred number of cues in advance.
- [Disabled] turns off move in dark for this cue.
- [Early] will move as early as possible.
- [Late] will move as late as possible.
For each cue you can set a Move in Dark Delay and Move in Dark Fade time. Each cue also has a MID inhibit switch. When turned on a MID can never occur during that cue. In all cases if the specified cue is inhibited from MID or if any fixtures are live on stage in the cue then it will attempt the MID in the nearest suitable cue instead.
- Cue List - Tracking Options:
It is now possible to control how tracking behaves:
- [Block] - When a cue is set to block it will not take any tracking information from previous cues. All subsequent cues will track from the block cue onwards.
- [This Cue Only] - Changes in this cue will not track to subsequent cues. Unchanged information from previous cues will pass through.
- [Solo] No information is tracked into or out of a solo cue. Information from previous cues will track to subsequent cues but will not appear in the solo cue.
- Copy/Move Within Cue Lists and Chases:
It is now possible to copy and move cues, including ranges, within the same or between other cue lists and chases. This can be accomplished by clicking/dragging cues in a playback view, via a command line syntax or from unfold. Command syntax is as follows:

- Theatre Syntax:
New syntax options have been added for fast cue list recording and editing. The following commands work for the selected or currently connected playback where <n> is the cue number:
- RECORD CONNECT <n> ENTER (record cue n)
- COPY CONNECT <n> (Copy cue n)
- DELETE CONNECT <n> (Delete cue n)
- INCLUDE CONNECT <n> (Include cue n)
- CONNECT <n> GO. (Go cue n)
On Pearl Expert and Tiger Touch the Record Cue button can be used as Record.
- Pixel Mapper Text:
A new text element has been added to pixel mapper. This is represented as 'Ab' in the elements selection. Available properties are:
- Font/Font Style
- Opacity
- X Position
- Y Position
- Width
- Height
- Zoom
- Rotation
- Border Width
- Pixel Mapper Image:
A new image element has been added to pixel mapper. This is represented as an open file image in the elements selection. When selected an image browser will open.* You can choose between a local source or Usb stick (if present) at the top. By default the local image directory is my documents/my pictures. You can import images in jpg, png and bmp formats. Open directories by clicking on them in the main window. To move up a directory level press the icon to the right of the arrow buttons at the bottom. Available images will be shown as a preview. Either double-click an image to immediately add it to pixel mapper or select multiple images followed by the 'tick' icon which will import the images. If multiple images have been imported the library will be opened ready in the imported section where you can choose an image to use. You can delete images from the imported library by clicking on the trashcan, select image(s) and then confirm with the tick. Available properties are:
- Opacity
- X Position
- Y Position
- Width
- Height
- Zoom
- Rotation
(* if the image browser does not open click on the keyboard button in the taskbar.)
- Pixel Mapper Scribble:
A new scribble element has been added to pixel mapper. This is represented as a hand with a pen in the elements selection. Selecting this element will open the touch keyboard where you can draw images to use as elements in the pixel mapper. Available properties are:
- Opacity
- X Position
- Y Position
- Width
- Height
- Zoom
- Rotation
- Pixel Mapper Grid Fit Animation:
A new grid fit pixel mapper animation has been added. This is represented as a regular grid of 3x3 dots in the animation selection. This provides a way to align animations accurately to the pixel grid. Available properties are:
An example of use in a simple 5x5 layout might be a block element (zoom to size of a single cell) + displacement animation + grid fit (5x5) + opacity animation. This will make a block randomly fade in/out onto single whole cells only.
- Pixel Mapper Wheel and Numeric Control:
It is now possible to adjust pixel mapper controls using the wheels or by entering values numerically. This makes it easier to fine tune or provide precise values. To assign to wheels press the value box to the right of the control. Some attributes are grouped in pairs on the wheels for convenience. Controls currently assigned to wheels are represented with a highlighted box around the edge of the value(s). The last control selected is also ready for numeric input. This is represented with a highlight on the value itself. Two additional softkeys are provided: '+/-' will swap the value from positive to negative or vice-versa. 'Reset to default values' will reset the control to its default value (this can also be achieved by double-clicking the value). - View Shapes and Effects:
It is now possible to view pixel mapper and shape information in the channel grid and cue views. To view pixel mapper or shape information in the channel grid select the relevant option from the channel grid context menu. Where a pixel map effect exists on an attribute it will be represented as 'Effect'. Where a shape exists on an attribute it will be represented as the shape name. In playback view there are now two additional columns representing shapes and pixels respectively. Where pixel mapper information is available a [View] button will appear. Pressing this button will open a 'Pixel Mapper Effect View' detailing the effect values in a grid format. Effects, Layers, Elements and Animations follow a tree style. All values can be directly edited by selecting the appropriate cell. New values can be input numerically or adjusted by wheel. Where shape information is available a button with the shape name (or [...] for multiple shapes) will appear. Clicking this button will open a shape view listing all the shapes contained in the cue. The shape controls can be directly edited by clicking on the appropriate cell and entering a new value numerically. To view and edit individual fixtures in a shape click on the [View button] to open Shape Fixture View. - Auto Legend:
There is a new user setting called Auto Legend (enabled by default). When enabled this setting will automatically create legends when recording palettes unless you manually set a legend. When recording colour palettes in workspaces a coloured icon will be used to represent the colour. Where a palette contains multiple fixtures set to different colours each different colour will be represented as a vertical bar. When recording palettes involving CITP thumbnails the legend will use the thumbnail image. For all other palettes the last adjusted function and value will be used with the exception of pan/tilt which will revert to a default palette legend instead. - Assign Masters:
Where consoles do not have dedicated controls it is now possible to assign masters to handles. To do this go to system/[Assign Mastering], select master and choose destination handle. Available masters are:
- Grand
- Playback
- Preset
- Flash
- Swop
Various key profile options are available for masters and can be set via [Playback Options]. Note that by default masters have a transparent lock set. This can also be changed via [Playback Options].
- Speed Masters:
You can now assign playbacks to separate speed masters. To assign a speed master go to system/[Assign Mastering], select master and choose destination handle. Available speed masters are:
- 'BPM' (1-4) - BPM masters override local speed with absolute values. The maximum speed of each BPM master is toggled via [Playback Options].
- 'Rate' (1-4) - Rate masters proportionally master a local speed. The scale for rate masters can be toggled via [Playback Options].
- 'Rate Grand Master' - The rate grand master proportionally controls the four rate masters.
Various key profile options are available via [Playback Options] including tap tempo for BPM masters (default). Assign playbacks to use one of the speed masters via [Playback Options]/[Speed Source]. [Local] is the default. Speed masters can also be used to control shapes and effects. Note that assigning a speed master is independent of the [Speed on Fader] option. In other words a speed master will control the speed of a shape even if speed is set to static on fader.
- Shapes on Subfixtures:
It is now possible to run shapes on subfixtures via the master fixture handle. When a master fixture is selected you will be asked whether you want to run the shape on the super fixtures or sub fixtures. - Unfold a Range of Multi-Celled Fixtures:
It is now possible to unfold a range of fixtures containing subfixtures. There are two methods:
- 1) UNFOLD <select (range of) fixtures>. The subfixtures for all fixtures will then immediately appear on handles consecutively.
- 2) <select fixture(s)> UNFOLD [Selected Fixtures]. The subfixtures for all fixtures will appear on handles consecutively when [Selected Fixtures] is pressed. This method allows for non-consecutive multiple fixture selection.
Note that when using method 2 the unfolded handles will always appear in the Fixtures workspace.
- Sub Fixture Selection in Attribute Editor:
When a fixture containing sub fixtures is selected the available cells along with the master fixture are shown in the Attribute Editor and can be selected for editing. Multiple cells can be selected. Note that it is possible to create groups directly from this selection if required. - Sub Fixture Numeric Selection:
Numeric syntax for selection of sub fixtures has been enhanced for multiple fixtures. Available commands are as follows:

- THRO .j (sub fixtures 1->j of all selected fixtures - Shorthand for above)

- Second Monitor Output for Titan Mobile:
Titan Mobile now supports two displays. This can be enabled/disabled in system/[Display Setup] - Static Playback Pages:
It is now possible to page the static playbacks on Tiger Touch and Titan Mobile. This applies to the 10 static playbacks on the Tiger Touch and the 20 executor buttons on Titan Mobile. There are a maximum of 60 pages. To change page use the new factory macros provided(*). (*Note that macros are part of the fixture library. If you do not see these macros download and install the latest library.) - DMX Triggers for Titan Mobile:
It is now possible to use DMX as a remote trigger on Titan Mobile consoles. The Titan Mobile will require a firmware update to enable DMX in as detailed in the USB Expert manual. - Display DMX Address in Fixture Handle:
It is now possible to see the patch address for handles in the fixtures workspace without needing to be in the patch menu. This can be toggled on/off the fixture workspace context menu. - Patch with Offset:
There is a new option when patching to provide an offset. This saves time if you deliberately want to leave gaps between fixtures. Typically this might be used when planning a show that will involve exchanging fixtures. When patching this is located in the [Options] menu. When editing in patch view or using repatch in addition to 'retain layout' and 'bunch up' there is a third option called 'bunch up with offset'. With this option selected it is possible to input an offset. Note that the offset is the total number of channels you would like the fixture to occupy. For example, patching 2 x Martin Mac 700 Profile 31 DMX starting at DMX 001 with offset = 40 will result in fixture 1 at 001 and fixture 2 at 041. - Update All Personalities:
Patch/[Update Personality] now has an extra [Update All] button to update all the available personalities without having to go through each individually. - User Personality Directory:
A new personalities directory has been created for custom fixtures. When patching personalities this is searched first and is not affected when updating the library. This is available under 'My Documents\Titan\Personalities\'. - New Show Wipe DMX Option:
When starting a new show you now have an option to keep existing DMX settings or to reset to default. - Load With or Without DMX Settings:
When loading a show you now have an option to keep existing DMX settings or use those stored in the showfile. - Loading Bar Status:
When loading a show there is now a new screen which will show the progress of the show loading. - Show Browser:
There is now a new dedicated workspace when loading and saving shows on consoles without an LCD display. - Quick Merge:
When overwriting a palette there is now an additional option called [quick merge]. This will filter the mask to only allow channels present in the original palette. The mask is represented in the softkey display. When double-pressing this is the default action. - Store Locate State:
It is now possible to store the locate state of fixtures. These can be recorded as shared (applies to all fixtures of the same type) or as individual fixture. To store press Record followed by Locate. This will present a menu with options for Shared/Individual. Press [Record] or Locate a second time to confirm. - Release Key Profile Option:
There is now a new key profile option to release playbacks. This is particularly useful for cue-lists. - Active Playbacks Workspace:
There is now a new workspace to show active playbacks. This provides an easy way to see what is currently running and from which page. Various operations can be performed directly on the active playbacks. These include the ability to kill, copy, move, view and set legend. - Record Groups on Macro Buttons:
You can now record groups on the physical macro keys on the Tiger Touch and Expert Touch Wing. - Record Timecode from Playback View:
There is a new context menu item in Playback View called Record Timecode. This provides a shortcut to the timecode menu with record enabled. - Lock Macro and Palette Handle Paging:
It is now possible to set locks and transparent locks on macros and palettes. This is particularly useful when assigning the new static page change macros to executor buttons.

When including a chase or cue list on consoles without a dedicated LCD display the Playback View will now automatically open to allow cue selection by touch. - Select Column:

You can now use the syntax GROUP, n, @ to perform actions on a group. - Patch Softkey for Dimmers:

- Track Changes Only:
When recording cue lists only changes will be recorded. Any values that remain unchanged from the previous cue will not. This ensures tracking functions correctly. - Default Workspace - Fixtures & Groups:
When starting a new show the default workspace is now Fixtures and Groups. This is more convenient for patching. - Reset User Settings on New Show:
When starting a new show the user settings are reset to defaults. Note that this includes Autosave settings. - Unfold Fixture Now Only Sub Fixture Handles:
When unfolding fixtures with sub fixtures the master fixtures will no longer be assigned to handles in the unfolded view. Master fixtures are now accessed in the 'folded' view only. - Rec Step Cue Number Focus:
When using Rec Step it will now always be ready for a cue number input. Previously it would remember the last item focused, for example legend, making it difficult to work quickly. - Cue List Auto Connect to Timecode:
When recording timecode the associated cue list is now automatically connected enabling timecode playback. - Fixture Attribute Workspace Shortcut Position:
The default factory Fixture Attribute workspace shortcut now positions the Attribute Editor workspace the bottom-left quad. - Remove Compatibility View:
The default factory Compatibility workspace shortcut has been removed. The workspaces are still available from the Open menu.

- Cannot recover from corrupt configuration file:
In rare circumstances it was possible for a configuration file to become corrupt. If this occurred the software was unable to start until the file had been deleted. The software is now able to detect this problem and recover. - Pixel Mapper fails to work with certain locale settings:
Where a system was set to a language that used a comma symbol to represent decimal points the pixel mapper effect editor would fail. This has been resolved. - Merging into cue lists doesn't update tracking as expected:
Previously when a cues were updated by merging the tracking would not update to suit. This has now been fixed with the change 'track changes only'. Note that this applies to new cue lists only. - Frozen attribute levels do not save with showfile:
Previously when saving fixtures with frozen attributes they would reload in their power on state. The frozen levels are now saved and restored correctly. - Load v4 show with multi-cell fixtures breaks related programming:
Previously when loading a v4 show with multi-cell fixtures the software would not interpret them correctly which would compromise any related programming. Now the software will recognise the show is from an earlier version and preserve the programming. - Sub-fixture exchange broken:
When exchanging one multi-cell fixture for another the sub fixture data would not exchange correctly. This has now been fixed. - Can't click on touch screen:
Occasionally it was possible a left click or touch on a screen would not work as expected. This has now been resolved. - Preset fader intensities get stuck:
In v5.0 it was possible for intensities from preset faders to get stuck on. This would happen if the fader was lowered very quickly. This has now been resolved. - No output with 16bit virtual masters:
In the very rare instances of a 16bit virtual dimmer there would be no output if intensity was snapped to 100% (i.e.. Flash/swop @@ etc.) This has now been fixed. - Super fixture palettes get stuck in the programmer:
Palettes created from master fixtures that contained links to sub fixtures would lock in the programmer when recalled by fixture selection. To restore control you had to nudge the affected attributes. This has now been resolved. - Sub fixtures don't locate when master fixture is in the programmer:
If master fixture values were in the programmer and you attempted to locate a sub fixture it would not work until you nudged the attributes. This has been fixed. - Sub fixtures don't locate if they are in the programmer and the master is located:
If sub fixture values were in the programmer and you then attempted to locate the master fixture it would not work. This has been fixed. - Applying palettes to sub fixtures after locating master fixture:
If a master fixture was located and not cleared and you attempted to apply palettes to separate sub fixtures any fixtures not selected would reset to the locate values. This only happened if the master fixture had not been cleared. This is now resolved. - Higher priority block shapes not working correctly:
Previously a higher priority block shape could still be overridden by a lower priority shape. Now a higher priority block shape will always override a lower priority shape. - Release clear to lower dimmer:
If the programmer contained dimmers at a higher level than in an active cue using OFF/Clear would result in a delay then snap to lower level. It will now fade to the lower level over the time set or master release time. - Release clear snaps dimmers:
If the programmer contained dimmers at a lower level than in an active cue release clear would fade to zero then snap back to the cue level. Now the dimmers will correctly fade up to the cue level over the time specified or the master release time. - Flash and swop ignore master release time:
Previously when cues set to release were flashed or swopped they would ignore the master release time and release over 2s. They will now release according to master release time. - Flash/Swop intensity does not work with autoload:
Where a cue-list autoloads an intensity cue flashing or swopping the cue would not output to stage as expected. This has been fixed. - Flash/Swop intensity shapes in cue lists with size on fader does not work:
Previously if a dimmer shape cue in a cue list set to size on fader was flashed or swopped it would not output. This has been fixed. - Can't adjust cue list or chase level by fader while in delay:
Where a cue list or chase had delay times set the playback fader would not affect intensity levels during the delay and would suddenly snap to the new level instead. Now it is possible to master intensities by fader during delay times. - Delay + Mode 2:

Previously when cue lists containing macro links were copied the copy would not contain the macro links. This has been resolved. - Mixed mode shared palettes:
Previously if you had more than one mode of a particular fixture patched and attempted to create a shared palette that treated the two modes independently it would only allow one of the modes to exist. It is now possible to have a shared palette for each mode within a single palette. Note that by design if a shared palette is only created in one of the modes it will still apply to both. - Group fixture order persists on replace:
Previously if you replaced a group using the same fixtures but in a different order the original order would persist. Now the new order replaces as expected. - Fixture order does not always save correctly:
Sometimes after saving and loading a show the fixture order was not as you left it. This was specific to leaving some fixtures with no fixture order set. This has now been resolved. - Fan within group doesn't work correctly:
Sometimes when fan was set to 'within group' it would not fan symmetrically as expected. This has now been resolved. - Copied fixtures don't appear in cue view:
Previously copied fixtures would not appear in the channel grid when viewing cues that contained the originals. This has now been resolved. - Cue lists fade out with snap back/cut next cue live:
Previously if fade out times had been set in cue lists the snap back/forward functions would not snap correctly. The snap functions now work as expected where fade out times are set. - Snap back/cut next cue live fades shapes:
Previously when snapping between cues with shapes in a cue list the shapes would fade. They now snap as expected. - Cue view sticks in times view:
After performing edit times operations the cue view would get stuck in times view. It has now been changed so that it always opens in levels view. - Renumber cue does not update playback view:
Previously if a cue was renumbered in a playback you were viewing the cue list would not reorder itself until it was fired. Renumbered cues now immediately reorder in the playback view. - Cue and Playback Views don't update when associated playback is deleted:
Previously if, while viewing a playback or its cue data, the playback was deleted the views would remain. Now they will clear as expected. - Record chase softkey gets stuck on [update]:

Sometimes it was possible for Visualiser dialogs to appear on another screen or behind windows. This might make you think it was not working correctly. This has been changed so that it should always be visible. - Abc mode resets with latched set legend:
When the touch keyboard was set to Abc mode with set legend latched it would stop working correctly after a legend had been set. It has now been fixed so that it continues working in the set mode until manually changed. - Usb Expert - Wheels tab does not respond to Expert Touch wheel 3:
In Usb Expert the wheels tab would only show changes to the first two wheels on the Expert Touch wing. This could be confusing and make you think there was a problem with the wheel when there was not. This has now been resolved. - Fixed universe ArtNet nodes don't disappear from available nodes after assignment:
Previously ArtNet nodes that can only be assigned once didn't disappear from the available nodes list after they had been assigned. This has been resolved. - Last Expert DMX output remains in available nodes list when assigned:
Previously after assigning all Expert DMX outputs the last output still showed in the available nodes list and could be reassigned. This has been resolved. - Pixel Mapper layer number disappears:
Previously after adding elements in the effect editor the layer numbers would disappear. They have now been instructed to stay where they are and not move.

- Changing system time kills playbacks:
TitanNet relies on system time for synchronisation. If the time is changed on a console any active cues will deactivate and need to be refired. It is advised you avoid changing the system time during a show. - DMX Settings reset when loading shows from previous versions:
DMX Settings are not preserved from previous versions. It is recommended that you check DMX Settings after loading a show from a previous version and adjust as necessary. - Fixtures with sub fixtures may not import correctly from version 5 shows:
If a show that was created in version 5 is loaded into version 6, and that show contains fixtures which have sub fixtures with certain attributes such as White, the links between the master and sub fixtures may be lost. If this occurs it can be resolved by exchanging the fixture to the same make, model and mode.

Avolites download. Full instructions for upgrading both with an installer and a recovery disc are supplied with the download and can be found in the console manual. The installer upgrade procedure is reproduced briefly below.
Please save the software to a USB stick or other media and follow these instructions: Shutdown the software by selecting 'Shutdown Software' from the tools menu. Insert the USB stick in the console and click on the yellow 'Folders' icon on the tools menu of the console. Find the setup file you saved to the USB stick and double click to run it. Follow the instructions presented by the installer, taking care to read each step carefully. Once the setup completes you need to restart the console. When the console restarts it should be updated to the new software, please check this by reading the version number in system mode.

- Quick Build:
The quick build feature allows you to easily build cues, chases and cue lists from existing cues and palettes.
By simply selecting a range of colour palettes you can create a colour chase. To use quick build start recording a chase and then from the record mode select [Quick Build]. You can select any palette or playback and insert that item as a new step in the chase.
To filter by specific fixtures just select the fixtures first and then select the palette or playback. If you range select over the palettes then each palette will be added as a separate step. You can also use quick build when recording a single cue to merge multiple palettes/playbacks into the same cue.
- Fixture Order in Groups:
Groups can now have a fixture order so that when you apply that group the order is entered into the programmer. This has several advantages, the first being that the order is also recorded into the cue meaning that complex orders do not have to be set up individually in each cue. The other benefit is that the order is used when applying palettes with an overlap. To change the order within a group, select [Group] [Edit Groups] followed by the group you want to edit. There are two ways you can arrange the order, either with the layout editor which is described in the "Fixture Layout in Groups" feature, or using the standard fixture order editor. If you now press [Fixture Order] you can change the order by selecting the handles of the fixtures. - Fixture Layout in Groups:
Groups now contain a location in 2D space for fixtures recorded in the group. This information is used when running pixel mapper effects. Each fixture has an X and Y location where X is the old fixture order. To edit the locations of the fixtures select [Group] [Edit Groups] [Edit Layout] and then select the group to edit. This will open the layout grid which you can drag the fixtures around on. Some auto layout options are available. The grid size can be changed by dragging the bottom right corner of the grid. - Fade between Channel Ranges:
In previous versions if you went between two distinct ranges of a fixture attribute it would snap the channels. The software now tries to fade the channels if it can. This result is smooth transitions for controls such as Gobo Spin and Shutter. - MIDI or DMX Triggering:
You can now trigger many features of the console from external triggers. MIDI and DMX triggering are available. This powerful feature is explained in more detail in the Version 5 Titan manual. Briefly, to set up triggering, connect your external device then enter System mode and select the Triggers menu. Add a new Trigger mapping and give it a name. Add a trigger to the mapping then select what you wish to trigger. To trigger a fader or button on the console press it or move it. To trigger a specific playback, fixture, palette, group or macro toggle to Trigger Type [Item] and select the item to trigger. Now scroll though the list of available actions. Having selected an action or piece of hardware select [Ok]. Now choose MIDI or DMX triggering and, if using DMX triggering, select the DMX port. Then either enter the MIDI or DMX address to use as a stimulus or simply generate the stimulus from your device, the console will learn the trigger and fill in the details for you. Now add the trigger. Repeat to add as many triggers as you wish. - Sub Fixtures:
Using sub fixtures allows you to group cells of a fixture in one super fixture. This negates having to patch multi celled fixtures as many separate fixtures. When you patch a fixture which has sub fixtures it will appear as a single fixture and have one DMX address. You can then drill down into that fixture by selecting [Unfold] then the handle of the super fixture. This will give you individual control of the cells of the fixture. In order for sub fixtures to work the personality must include this feature and it may take us a while to update old personalities. Where sub fixtures really come into their own is when laying out fixtures for pixel mapping. Any fixture which contains sub fixtures can be moved and rotated as a single fixture but the individual cells are still mapped seperately. - FX Added to Attribute Mask:
The attribute mask has a new bank called FX in addition to IPCGBES. The extra bank incorporates shapes and pixel map effects allowing for these items to be masked when recording and updating your show. - Shapes in Palettes:
You can now save shapes and shape parameters into your palettes for easy programming or quick live operation. A palette may now store any combination of shape and shape parameters such as speed and size. To store a shape in a palette, set the shape up in the programmer and store the palette. The shape is masked by the FX bank in the attribute mask so take care that this is enabled when recording the palette. You can record just the pattern or just the speed by turning Off any paramenters you do not wish to record. To turn shape parameters Off use the Off menu in the normal way. A shape workspace window is available to help you organise any shape palettes. - Run Macro from Cue:
You can now fire macros from a cue within a cue list. This allows you to set up custom actions which are then performed when a cue in a cue list fires. You may want to lamp on your fixtures when the first cue fires in the cue list and this can all be done by linking the macros to the cue in the playback view. - View Palette:
You can now view the contents of a palette and adjust the attribute values. To view a palette, select View and then the palette you wish to view. A new window will open which lists all the fixtures in the palette as well as their attribute values. You are shown both the shared and normal palette information. The values can be directly edited just by selecting the cells containing the values and entering the new level. The palette view does not current show shapes. - Select If:
Using Select If allows you to select fixtures based on whether they are controlled by a particular palette or playback. Pressing [Select If] followed by a palette will select any fixtures that are using that palette (even if not in the programmer). To select fixtures in a playback press [Select If] and then select the playback. Finally you can select fixtures at particular levels by combining [Select If] and the [@] key. A full description of select if functions can be found in the manual. On the Tiger Touch and Pearl Expert consoles you will find [Select If] in the channel menu. - Flash Full and Flash Out:
The Flash Full function will temporarily flash all selected fixtures to full intensity while the key is held. The Flash Out function performs the opposite by setting them to zero intensity. This feature is only available on consoles with [Flash Full] and [Flash Out] keys. - Remainder Dim:
Takes all the fixtures that are not selected and sets their intensity to zero. The zero intensity is placed in the programmer and will be recorded into any cue. So to zero the intensity of every fixture except the few that you are working with, first select the fixtures you do not want zeroed and then press [Rem Dim]. This feature is only available on the Mobile. - Lock Desk:
You can now lock the console with a security code to prevent layabouts fiddling with your show. When the console is locked all functions of the console are disabled except the DMX outputs and currently running playbacks. To unlock, enter the password you used to lock the console, or restart the console. To lock the console press [Shift] + [Lock] and then enter a password followed by [Enter]. - Patch Quantity of Fixtures:
When patching fixtures you can now set the quantity of fixtures to patch. This simplifies the process of patching large numbers of fixtures. You now just set the quantity you want to patch and then select the first handle where you want to patch the fixture. - Edit Personality:
Sometimes you may find that the personality of a fixture contains errors and needs minor changes. With edit personality it is now even easier to correct these errors. Go to [Patch] and then select [Edit Fixtures] followed by [Edit Personality]. You will now be presented with a list of all fixture types currently patched in the show. Select the fixture you want to edit the personality for. This will open personality builder which allows you to make the required changes. When you save the changes your show will automatically be updated. - Pixel Mapper:
The pixel mapper allows the creation of 2D shapes which control the colour or intensity of groups of fixtures.
To use the pixel mapper first create a group of the fixtures and lay them out in the group using the group layout tool.
Then select the group and from the root menu select [Shapes and Effects], [Pixel Mapper],
[Create Effect]. The effect editor window will open with a blank black background.
The effect is made up of elements and animations, to add an element press the [+] button and select an element such as a Block.
A white block will be appear in the middle of the effect editor preview pane. Fixtures which are laid out in the middle part of the group will change to white. If you are using RGB or CMY fixtures and don't see any output ensure the dimmer channel is at full.
The element is now selected and you can move it around and change its properties using the sliders of the property pane.
With the element selected you can add an animation by pressing the [+] button again and selecting an animation such as a movement.
The block will then start to move and as it moves the relevant fixtures will change colour according to their positions.
Once you have an effect you like you can record it to a playback and clear the programmer. Raising the fader on the playback will fade in the effect.
- Pixel Mapper Preview Window:
The pixel mapper preview window shows the output of the effect engine and pixel mapper before it is applied to the fixtures. Open the window from the [Open Workspace Window] menu. The bottom part of the window shows buttons for all running effects with thumbnails. The top part of the window shows a larger view of the most recently fired or selected effect. Note that for performance the preview window updates at a slightly slower rate than the real output. - Auto Groups:
When patching multiple fixtures a group is created automatically in the group window. You will notice two types of auto groups being created. The first is a fixture type group which will always contain all fixtures of the same type. The second is a group which is created when you either range patch or specify a quantity. A new group is created for each batch of fixtures you patch. This feature can be turned off in user settings or patch options. - Master Palette Overlap:
You can now set a master palette overlap in the same way as you can set a master palette time. This overlap will be used when no other overlap is found. The option is accessed through the palette menu by pressing the [Palette] key. - Update:
The update function allows you to update the attribute values stored in a fired playback with the corresponding values currently in the programmer. The update function can be found under the Record Cue menu, or on the Titan Mobile, there is a dedicated button. When initially entering the function the playbacks which will be affected are highlighted and listed in the softkeys, playbacks and palettes can be selected or deselected in the softkeys. Pressing Enter or the Update button will confirm the current selection, alternatively individual palettes or playbacks can be selected by pressing the swop button twice. Updating a playback will replace the current palette or value in the playback with the palette or value currently in the programmer.

- Exchange fixture maintains fixture legend:
When a fixture is exchanged it now maintains any user set legend rather than reverting to the exchange fixture's name. If no legend has been set it will be renamed to the new fixture's name. Note this feature will only work with shows created in version 5. Older shows will retain the existing legends. - Updating of playbacks with palette links:
In previous versions of the software, where a playback linked to a palette, if the original palette was updated only channels programmed in the playback would be updated from the palette. This has been changed so that playbacks may add channels from a linked palette (being updated) if the channel is not already being controlled in the playback. This means that adding new channels into a palette will cause the playbacks to update with this new information. The greatest benefit to this is when exchanging fixtures. - Fixture Exchange Mapping Hints:
The console now contains a fixture exchange hints file which helps the software to decide which controls map to which. This ensures that any awkward fixtures to exchange can be dealt with by adding exceptions to this hints file. The file is maintained by Avolites and distributed with the Fixture Library. This should ensure that exchange works well every time. - Fading of shape phase is now smoother:
Fading the phase of a shape between two phase offsets is now a lot smoother than in previous versions. - Stop on Final Cue works with bounce and random:
The stop on final cue setting now works with chases set to bounce or random mode. The chase stops when all the cues have been played. - Unassigned DMX ports stop sending DMX:
When a physical DMX port is unassigned it now stops sending DMX data. - Frozen Attributes saved in show:
Frozen fixture attributes are now frozen so their state is restored when the show is re-loaded. - Mask in Quick Include:
You can now set a mask in quick include. This avoids having to go into advanced include just to set a mask. You can now press [Include] followed by an attribute bank button and then the handle to include. - 1 THROUGH 10 [Highlight]:
The command syntax 1 THROUGH 10 [Highlight] now works. - Dongle License through Panel:
The dongle license code can now be entered through the panel software and a clearer warning is given when the dongle is removed. This makes it easier to license the console after a recovery. - Fan Options menu - Curve Type:
The fan options menu now shows the selected fan curve. - Window page in Workspace shortcuts:

- The Titan engine may crash with chases of very many dimmers:
Running a chase containing in excess of 1000 dimmers with the channel grid open might have caused the software to crash. - Copying a fixture did not copy Invert and Swap PT:
When copying a fixture the inverted attributes and the swap Pan and Tilt settings would not be copied. Instead they would revert to the default values. - Intensity quick palettes re-apply from Cue List:
When running an intensity quick palette with any chase or cue list the palettes may re-apply when the cue list or chase wraps around to step 1. - Fixture overlap in Mode 3 cues does not work correctly:
Using fixture overlap in a Mode 3 cue would not work correctly with the LTP channels not going to the desired values. - Include Fade In:
If you included channels from a cue with fade times on the attributes then the channels would fade in after being included. They now snap in. - Chases with zero speed start running on Go:
A chase with zero speed would start running when Go was pressed. A chase with zero speed now stays paused. - Copy Playback now copies all Playback options:
The software now copies all playback options when copying the playback. Previously some would be ignored. - Certain Chases won't Unfold:
In very rare circumstances it was possible for a chase to get in a state where it would not unfold. This has now been fixed. - Flip Pan and Tilt in Blind:
The flip pan and tilt function does not work when in blind mode. This is now resolved. - Release on clear not releasing to playback levels:
When releasing the programmer to playback levels it does not release correctly. - Stop on final step for backwards chase:
When a chase was set to run in the backwards direction, the stop on final step setting would have no effect. It now stops on the first step before looping. - Picture Legends in other languages:
Picture legends may not display correctly when the console language is set to something other than English. - Deleting in channel grid does not remove fixture:
When you have deleted all channels from a fixture using channel grid the fixture should be removed from the programmer. - DMX will not output on channel 512:
It was not possible to output DMX on channel 512. - Workspace shortcuts in Record Menu:
Workspace shortcuts would not work when in the record menu. - Workspace legend lost after update:
When you edit a workspace shortcut it lost the legend after the update. - Pressing [Off] Twice:
Pressing the off key twice would open a strange off menu - Clear LED locks on:
The clear LED would stay on and not clear if you deleted a fixture while it was selected. - Preset palettes could override existing ones:
Patching with preset palettes could override your existing palettes if the locations were occupied. The software now avoids user-recorded palettes when creating presets.

- Fixed minor memory leak in chase view on touch consoles:
A memory leak would ocurr if you had the chase view open on touch consoles with a running chase. The memory would be freed if you disconnected the chase but may have caused problems if you left the console with a chase running for more than a few days. - Slow running with both Channel Grid and DMX view open:
The operation of the console could slow down if you had both the DMX view and the channel grid open at the same time. This only ocurred if the views contained channels that are changing. - Console freezing while clearing shapes from the programmer:
Very ocassionally the software may freeze while clearing shapes from the programmer. - Fader controls shape size and speed not working in Cue Lists:
The option to control the shape size and speed was not working with cue lists. - Playbacks firing through Timecode at the same time as user operations:
The software could freeze if a timecode playback was fired at the same time as the user firing playbacks. - Slow and silent memory leak:
A memory leak which caused the console to display an out of memory exception after prolonged periods of use greater the 2 days has been fixed.

- Undo / Redo:
You can now undo and redo up to 20 actions. This applies to the following actions
- Fixture selection
- Attribute adjustment (eg Pan, Tilt, colour changes)

You can access Undo and redo by holding the Shift (Avo) button and pressing the Undo and Redo buttons located in the bottom right and left hand corners of the keypad. On Tiger Touch, Mobile and white Pearl Experts these are labelled Undo and Redo. On older Pearl Experts these are engraved as left and right arrow keys.
- Blind Programming:
Blind mode allows you to work with the programmer without your changes being immediately output to the stage. Hold Shift (Avo) and press the [Blind] softkey (or on Titan Mobile hit the Blind key). You will now have a new empty programmer whilst your existing programmer is retained and continues to output. Any changes made in this blind programmer will be shown in the visualiser, on the wheels and in Channel Grid but will not be output to the stage. You may use this programmer to create new playbacks or update existing playbacks. Any playbacks that are fired or running will continue to output to stage. To exit blind hold Shift (Avo) and hit [Blind] again. - Blind playback preview:
You may preview the output of a playback in the visualiser before sending it to stage by setting it to output blind. Select [Playback Options] then the playback, then select [Blind]. On Titan Mobile hold the Blind key and select the playback. When you fire the playback it will output to the visualiser but not to stage. Repeat the procedure to set it to output live again.
- Blind DMX output:
You may set a DMX node to output the blind DMX values instead of the stage DMX values. This means you can use an Art-Net connected visualiser to program in Blind or preview cues as well as the built in visualiser. To enable Blind DMX on an output node enter System mode, select [DMX Settings] then click the [i] button on the relevant assigned node. Then in the workspace window or on the softkeys toggle the [Blind DMX] option. - Picture legends:
A picture legend can be assigned to any button for which it is possible to set a text legend (eg fixture, group, palette, workspace, macro, etc). Press [Set Legend], select the item and then either select [Picture] from the softkey menu or the pencil icon on the virtual keyboard to open the drawing space. Brush size, colour and eraser are all available within the window; Enter applies the drawing to the item selected. You may also select a picture from the library of pre-drawn images by selecting the picture frame icon and browsing the library. - Fan Curves:
You can now select different curves to use when fanning. To select the curve hold the Fan button and select [Curve] then choose one of the options

Line - Traditional fan, the first and last selected fixture are affected equally in opposite directions, the midpoint remains unchanged. This remains most useful for pan.

- Fan parts:
When using the fan function you can split the fan automatically into equal parts. Select all the fixtures, hold down Fan and enter a number of parts with the numeric keypad. The selection will be divided into that many parts as shown.




- Fan across groups:
You can apply fan to a number groups rather than across individual fixtures. The option is accessed by holding down Fan and toggling the option key, you can choose between
- Ignore Groups - Fan treats each fixture individually whether selected individually or by a group. This is the normal mode.
- Fan Group as Fixture - Each group is fanned as if it were a single fixture. All fixtures within a group take on the same value.
- Fan Within Group - Fixtures selected in a group are fanned separately within that group.
- Press and Hold to Fan:
There is now a user setting to make Fan in a press and hold modifier. When enabled fan will only operate whilst the Fan button is held down. This makes it quicker to work with and avoids fanning the wrong attribute accidentally. - Keystone and blade graphical control:
Keystone and/or blades of appropriate supported fixtures can be edited through a graphical interface accessed from the Attribute Editor. Select [Keystone] or [Blades] from the Attribute Control options in the window and then adjust by selecting and dragging the corners or sides of the space displayed.

- Freeze attributes:
Freeze individual attributes of selected fixtures and/or whole selected fixtures. Frozen attributes cannot be changed by either playbacks or the programmer. To freeze fixtures or attributes enter Patch, select [Edit Fixtures] then [Freeze Fixture Or Attribute]. You can then select fixtures and toggle frozen attributes. - Thro, And and @:
You can now use the Thro, And and @ keys directly from the root menu of the console to select fixtures and set intensity numerically via the keypad. This also works in conjunction with locate ie 5 Locate, Group 7 Locate. - DMX output mapping:
DMX output mapping is available from the workspace windows; this option is opened by entering System Mode and selecting [DMX Settings]. On the VDU screen you are presented with a list of DMX Nodes and a list of DMX Lines. DMX Nodes can be assigned to DMX Lines by selecting their assign button then selecting one or more lines. DMX Nodes can be cleared individually from DMX Lines by selecting their individual clear button alternatively, all DMX Nodes can be cleared from a DMX Line by selecting the clear button in the header of a DMX Line or all DMX Nodes can be cleared from all DMX Lines by selecting the clear button in the DMX Line header. Information about a DMX Node can be accessed using the DMX Node’s individual [i] button. The values can then be edited in the softkey menu. - DMX view:
A DMX view in which the output of each DMX channel can be seen is now available through [Open Workspace Window], [DMX]. - Multiple language support:
The Titan software menus are now available in multiple languages including English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese. To select a different language you must first run the V4.0 recovery CD then from the Tools menu on the VDU or touch wing select [Control Panel] then [Languages] - Shape Fixture Order:
When a shape is applied to a selection of fixtures it applies in the order the fixtures were selected and phase then uses that order when spreading the shape across the fixtures. The order of your fixtures can now be changed after a shape has been applied by selecting [Edit] then [Fixture Order]. Fixtures in the same order step will move together in when the shape is phased. - Set button and text size:
The information button in the top right corner of each window opens options which allow you to change the size and position of that window and the button and text size to be used within that window. - Record Autoloads:
It is now easier and faster to create an autoload step when recording a Cue List. In the Record Cue List menu enter [Advanced Options] and turn on [Autoload Live Playbacks]; live playbacks are then recorded as Autoloads when a Cue List step is recorded removing the need to create blank steps and edit them to contain Autoloads. - Virtual Keyboard Edit Box:
When editing any text field using the virtual keyboard the space above the keyboard now shows the contents of the field in large type and the current cursor and selection state. - Virtual Keyboard Auto Capitalise:
The virtual keyboard now has the ability to automatically capitalise the first letter of each word. Press the Caps Lock key until it shows 'Abc' then the first letter of each work will be automatically capitalised. - Timecode window:
A new workspace window has been added to show the Timecode clock. It will show the current timecode from the selected source and allows setting the timecode source, enabling/disabling the timecode link and buttons to play, pause and reset the internal timer. - Workspace window shortcuts:
Pressing the View key (Open on Titan Mobile) and then one of the following keys will cause the corresponding workspace window to open. NB the LEDs of keys acting as workspace window shortcuts will flash once View has been pressed for ease of identification
- Attribute Bank – opens the Palette window for the corresponding bank.
- Fixture/Channel - opens the Fixtures window.
- Group - opens the Groups window.
- Macro – opens Macro window
- Patch – opens the DMX output window.
- Connect – opens the view cue window for the connected Cue List.

Holding down Shift (Avo) and pressing Exit will take you directly to the top level menu. - Release times:
The time in which a playback releases can now be controlled from the menu. In the Off menu (Release on Titan Mobile) there is an option for the Master release time. This will be the default release fade time for all manual releases. This can be overridden on a 'this time only' basis by typing a time in seconds in the root menu (like a palette fade time) then hitting Off (or Release) and then the Playback. - Release programmer values:
You can fade out the contents of the programmer, going back to the live playbacks by releasing when you clear. You can do this by pressing Off (Release on Titan Mobile) then pressing Clear. The channel values in the programmer will fade out in the master release time. You can override this time by typing a time first eg 6 Off Clear. Note this only applies to channel values, not palettes in the programmer. - Record Button:
Titan mobile has a single record button; to store a playback hit Record then select the type of playback then hit an empty playback select. You may also cycle through the playback types by hitting the Record button multiple times. To store a group, palette, macro or workspace hit Record followed by Palette, Group, Macro or View respectively. You may also use the Quick Record feature to record directly to an empty button. - Knock out of programmer:
You can quickly remove a fixture or group from the programmer by holding down Clear then pressing a fixture or group button. - Turn off Cue List tracking:
A playback option has been added to allow you to turn off tracking in cue lists. - Update Active Fixture:
You can now refresh an active fixture personality if, for example, you load new media onto a media server. Press Patch then [Update Personality] and select the active fixture. - Link Active Fixture:
You can link a fixture that has been patched conventionally to an active fixture to get media thumbnails. Enter Patch then [Active Fixture], select the active fixture and then patch it over the top of the conventionally patched fixture. - Kill out of range timecode playbacks:
This user setting will kill a playback if its recorded timecode is not in range of the current timer. To enable it enter User Settings and select [Timecode].

New fixtures can be added and existing fixtures removed from a shape applied to a selection of fixtures when in the shape generator by selecting [Edit] then [Add/Remove Fixtures] then selecting the fixtures you wish to add and/or remove. Note you can not remove all the fixtures from a shape, to move a shape to a new set of fixtures first add the new fixtures then remove the old ones. - Fade Engine Performance Improvements:

In some circumstances various LEDs on the Expert Touch wing could flicker randomly, the operation of the wing was otherwise unaffected. Upgrade Procedure

Upgrading from: 3.0:
Please ensure you save and backup your shows before attempting to upgrade any software. An automated upgrade path from version Pearl Expert Titan 3.0 and Tiger Touch 3.0 is provided. Upgrading from any other version requires the running of a Titan 3.0 recovery disk before running the upgrade installer. You can download the latest Titan software from
Avolites download. Full instructions for upgrading both with an installer and a recovery disc are supplied with the download and can be found in the console manual. The installer upgrade procedure is reproduced briefly below.
Please save the software to a USB stick or other media and follow these instructions. Shutdown the software by selecting 'Shutdown Software' from the tools menu. Insert the USB stick in the console and click on the yellow 'Folders' icon on the tools menu of the console. Find the setup file you saved to the USB stick double click to run it. Follow the instructions presented by the installer, taking care to read each step carefully. Once the setup completes you need to restart the console. When the console restarts it should be updated to the new software, please check this by reading the version number in system mode.

You can now select multiple fixtures in the repatch menu this allows you to park or re-address multiple fixtures at once. - Colour picker works with both CMY and RGB fixtures:
Now if you select CMY and RGB fixtures the colour picker will apply to both types of fixtures not just the last type you selected. - Handle window performance:
The opening time and scroll performance of the handle windows (eg Fixtures, Positions, Colours, Playbacks, etc) has been improved, especially for maximised windows. - Confirm delete in Cue View:

The Channel Grid now has a column that shows which attribute groups are in the programmer for each fixture. - Channel Grid follows current bank:
When you change attribute bank the channel grid will now attempt to scroll to get those attributes in view. - Playback view keeps live cue in view:

When the Expert touch wing is attached by default all attribute control is moved to the three wheels on the wing. Sometimes this is not desirable so a user setting has been added to allow you to retain attribute control on the console even when the wing is attached. In User Settings select 'Attribute Control on Console' - Visualiser window performance improvement:
The performance of the console has been improved with respect to the visualiser window. The console now doesn't wait for Visualiser to initialise before moving on to other tasks making the console more responsive, especially when loading workspaces. - Numeric Entry in Shape Generator:
In the shape generator menu you can now type numeric values to assign directly to the shape parameters. - Groups in Fixture Order Editor:
When setting fixture order in edit times you can now use groups and filtered groups to quickly create patterns. - Playback view selection:
When you drag to select cells in the playback view it now correctly shows you what selection you will get when you release the button taking into account changing columns and toggling cells. This makes it much easier to select the required cue properties. - Handle Preview Selection:
When dragging out a selection in the handle button view it now correctly reflects the selection rules. This includes showing fixtures that will drop out of the selection as lowlighted and dynamically showing the selection on the preset LEDs. - Delete in Patch:
When you exit the patch delete menu you now stay in Patch instead of exiting to the root menu. - Align mask:
Align fixtures now remembers the align mask when you exit the menu. - Locate starts new selection:
If you select some fixtures, then press locate then select some more fixtures they will now become the new selection instead of adding to the selection. This is consistent with the rule for changing attributes. - Enter to confirm attribute time:
In the edit times menu when setting attribute times previously the Enter key did not do anything. Now it toggles between Fade and Delay time. This makes it easier to visually confirm the edit has been accepted. - Disable quick palettes user option:
A new user setting has been added to disable quick palettes. When quick palettes are disabled you can no longer apply palettes without selecting fixtures first. - Record steps in cue list within Edit Times:
You can now record additional steps in a cue list while in the edit times menu. Start recording a cue list and then select edit times. You can continue recording additional steps by selecting the playback handle. - Console startup and shutdown logged:
A log entry is now made every time the console starts or shutsdown. This helps with diagnosing problems or faults.

- Changing fixture selection clears selection pattern:
Previously any selection pattern you applied such as Odd or 1 In 4 remained in effect until you cleared it using All All or by pressing Clear. This could be confusing when selecting additional fixtures because although they were added to the selection they weren't necessarily included in the pattern. To remedy this selection patterns are now cleared whenever you change the fixture selection.

- Visualiser Auto-patch unreliable with fixture exchange, copy and repatch fixtures:
Found in version: 3.0 Visualiser auto-patch previously got out of sync if you exchanged fixtures, copied fixtures or repatched fixtures. - Visualiser auto-patch rigging positions:
If you patched a large number of fixtures in the Fixtures window and enabled Visualiser Auto-Patch some fixtures could end up outside the confines of the theatre. Now they will wrap around to be contained within the theatre. - Visualiser theatre beam angles:
When saving the visualiser theatre in the show file it did not correctly retain fixture beam angles, orientations and other parameters set in design mode. All fixture parameters are now retained. - Visualiser auto-patch created very small fixtures:
The console software did not respect the unit system selected in Visualiser when auto patching fixtures. This meant that if the theatre measurement unit was set to millimetres the fixtures were created 25.4 times smaller than if the unit was set to inches. The patching now works independently of the theatre scale. - Fixtures loaded into programmer when selecting for include:
In advanced include, when selecting which fixtures in the cue to include, previously all the fixtures in the cue were put in the programmer even if they were deselected and no information was included for those fixtures. The include fixture selection is now independent and will not put fixtures into the programmer until the include is confirmed. - Fixtures loaded into programmer when selecting for Fixture Order:
When setting fixture order on a playback all fixtures selected for any step would be put into the programmer even though fixture order is not a programmer function. Fixtures are no longer put in the programmer. - Assign value to wheel C with touch wing:
On an Expert with a Touch wing attached you couldn't assign a value to wheel C in the numeric entry menu. Now when a wing is attached an extra softkey appears to assign to wheel C. - Could not click on Autoload in Playback View:
Having selected one or more cues in playback view to create an autoload you could not select different cues unless you exited the autoload menu. Now you can carry on and select different cues without leaving the menu. - u.a syntax for setting DMX addresses:
In the patch menu the ability to specify a DMX universe and address by typing Universe.Address in the address box stopped working in version 3.0. It now works correctly. - Console slowdown with Visualiser:
If you had visualiser open with Auto-patch switched on and you repatched a lot of fixtures the console would significantly slow down and a show saved in this state would sometimes fail to load. This has been resolved. - IPCGBES touch screen buttons didn't roll banks correctly:
If you selected a fixture with multiple layers of attributes on multiple banks (eg the Gobo banks of the Martin Mac 2000 Performance) repeatedly pressing one of the group button would not correctly roll through all the available attribute bank layers. - Move allowed you to move out of view:
Previously if you selected a range of items from right to left then selected a destination position such that some of the items were at negative indexes the move would succeed but it was then difficult to get at those items. You are now prevented from moving items to negative indexes. - Patch address did not highlight on patch:
When you patched a fixture it did not select the address field so you had to delete it to type the next address. It now selects the field when you patch a fixture so that you can immediately type the next address. - Connected playback view showed inserted cues in wrong order:
On the Tiger Touch the connected playback view displayed inserted cues at the end of the list rather than at their correct position. - Clear LED could get out of sync when using channel grid:
Using the channel grid it was possible to put things in the programmer and not have the Clear LED come on, this is resolved. - Changes in Unfold not reflected in Playback View:
Setting the legend on a cue or deleting a cue in unfold failed to update the playback view. - Unfold not shown correctly in playback view:
Very rarely when unfolding a chase the playback view would not show the unfolded handles. This is resolved. - Playback LEDs didn't light:
On the Tiger Touch when the console was powered on the playback LEDs didn't light to show which handles were occupied until you changed page, fired the playback or loaded a show. - Attribute bank LEDs stuck on:
In some cases pressing clear or locate soon after loading a show could cause the attribute bank LEDs to get stuck on. - Fixtures not recording correctly:
If a fixture had more than one attribute on the dimmer wheel it would not record into a playback correctly. - Software does not start:
If the desk type changed from a Diamond 4 and shut down with the virtual panel opened it would no longer open again. - Attributes in programmer:
Sometimes certain attributes would not display as being in the programmer when they were. - Software slow down:
When constantly creating and clearing shapes from the programmer the desk would become slower to run over a long period of time. - Re-firing mode 1 cues:
It was not possible to re-fire the LTP attributes of a mode 1 cue while it was fading out. - Update personality crash:
The desk would crash when updating a personality that had preset palettes patched. - Included shapes priority:
A shape that was included from a playback would not have priority to run over a shape already running from an existing playback. - Shape speed:
The processing of the shape engine has been reduced by ignoring controls that don't exist on any of the fixtures. - Bounce:
When a chase was set to bounce it stopped when it reached either end of the list. - Preset swops:
Preset swop keys would release each other. If multiple keys were held down but only one key released they would all get released. - Update personality preset palettes:
Update personality would not load in preset palettes from the new fixture. - Masters of swop:
Masters would loose control of fixtures that had been swopped. - Fixtures not exchanging:
Certain fixtures (eg. Mac 2000 Wash) would loose all information from certain attributes groups when exchanged. - Exchange fixture could cause crash:
An issue where repeatedly exchanging a group of fixtures to the same type sometimes caused the console to crash has been resolved. - Exchanging fixtures in groups could cause failures:
When exchanging all the fixtures in one group occasionally the software would stop halfway through the exchange. Exchange now works correctly with groups. - Preset master:
Preset master would lose control of fixtures that have been cleared from the programmer. - Fixture exchange attributes:
If an attribute was not in the target fixture during an exchange that information would get lost if exchanged back to a fixture that had the attribute. - Fixture exchange CMY to RGB:
CMY now maps to RGB after a fixture exchange - Set legend range select:
If you selected a range of handles in set legend and finished on an empty handle it would not allow you to set any legends. - Playback buttons IPCGBES indicator:
In the Playbacks window a playback buttons has an IPCGBES indicator to show the content of the cue but it did not correctly reflect the cue contents. - Attribute window and toggle programmer:
If you repeatedly pressed an attribute button in the attribute window after the fourth press it would stop going in and out of the programmer. - Channel grid and Attribute Editor with wheel nudge:
With fixture attributes with absolute values such as Gobos nudging the wheel slightly will put the value in the programmer however the Channel Grid and Attribute Editor would not previously reflect this change unless you moved a complete step (eg changed gobo). - Console freeze when deleting in cue view:
If you had a playback with a shape in it and it was playing and you opened it in cue view and deleted information from it the console could freeze. This is resolved. - Cue view header labels not aligned:
Occasionally when moving between cues with the cue view open the column headers would not match up with the data in the column. - Mode 2, 3 Fade out shown as Disabled:
In the edit times menu the Fade Out was shown as disabled for memories in modes 0, 2 & 3. It should only show Disabled for mode 0. - Channel menu put fixtures in the programmer:
When building selection commands in the channel menu the preview put fixtures into the programmer even if they would never be selected. For example if you typed 1 THRO 20 NOT 5 THRO 15 only 1, 2, 3, 4, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 would be selected but 5-15 would still be put in the programmer and would be recorded in record by fixture. The selection is now not committed until you press enter. - Playback view fails to open on unfolded cues:
If you attempted to open the playback view on an unfolded cue you would get a black window. Now it will open the cue view for that cue. - Sometimes windows would not open:
The first time you ran the software after a recovery CD or improper shutdown some windows did not open until you resized them or changed the screen they were on. This is resolved. - Connected Playback View stuck on Paused:
On the Pearl Expert on LCD connected playback view if you paused a running chase then resumed it by pressing Go the display would continue to read Paused until it started the next step. It now goes back to Fade. - Couldn't apply workspace in View menu:
Whilst in the View menu you couldn't apply a workspace from the Workspaces window. - Edited group not applying correctly:
If you edited a group in the group menu then you applied the group it would apply the group as if the edit had been lost until you changed page whereupon it would start to apply with the new fixture selection. Now the edit is committed immediately. - Off menu allowed edit in run mode:
In run mode, if you pressed the Off button twice you could switch fixtures and attributes Off which should not be accessible from Run mode. Now when you press Off in Run mode you can only reach the playback Release functions. - Highlights mode in Channel Grid:
In version 3 Highlights mode in channel grid stopped working. It now functions correctly, select Highlight Changes from the context menu and changing values will be highlighted in red. - Incorrect display on Expert LCD when recording cue list:
On an Expert with a Touch wing attached when recording a cue list the LCD screen showed attribute control above the console wheels when in fact attribute control was assigned to the wing wheels. This is resolved. - Console could boot with panels missing:
Very occasionally after boot up some panels did not appear in USB Expert and would not function to control the software. They required a panel reset to restore to operation. This has been resolved in the latest version of USB Expert. - Error with chase link loading V2.0 show:
If you loaded a V2.0 show with a chase with no step links set and you set the global link option to 'Always link steps' then it would introduce a delay between steps. This has been resolved, however, when loading V2.0 shows with advanced chase linking options set if you make changes to the chase it may reset the step linking. In version 3.0 onward we suggest you use a cue list for playbacks with complex linking. - Macro handle buttons load without legends:
When loading a show with macros in any of the handle windows sometimes they would not show legends until you changed workspaces. - Numeric menu and reversed ranges:
Previously if you tried to use the numeric menu to set a value in a reversed range it would set the complement of the value. For example setting 25% to a Robe Colour Spot 1200 Gobo spin CW function would actually set 75%. Numeric menu now works with normal and reversed ranges. - Attribute editor scroll glitch:
In the attribute editor if you scrolled to the end of lists of attributes of certain lengths the scrolling the final few pixels would cause the list to jump back one button. It now scrolls smoothly. - Open workspace window doesn't exit view menu:
Selecting View, Open Workspace Window, then selecting a window took you back to the View menu instead of the root menu. It now returns to the root or a latched menu. - Open workspace window menu didn't latch:
Although the open workspace window menu was latchable the latch was not effectual. It now latches correctly when selected. - Keyboard could change screen when toggling Min/Max:
Previously the keyboard stored its absolute screen location for small and large size independently so swapping between them could cause it to change screen. Now it stores the location relative to the current screen. - Titan window opens on wrong screen:
When first opening the Titan window on an Expert without a wing attached it would open the window on the wing so it would not be visible. Now it will open on the screen the user is working with. - Mouse pointer appears on wrong screen:
If you booted a Pearl Expert without a touch wing attached it started with the mouse on the wing making it difficult to find. In not starts up with the mouse on the VDU screen. - Fixtures would appear to be parked after exchange:
When exchanging fixtures the exchanged fixtures would sometimes appear as parked in the Fixture Patch view. The fixtures would be correctly patched but the view was showing the wrong information. - Deleting a chase returned to record menu:
If you deleted a chase from the record menu then it would return to the record menu for a chase which has been deleted. It now returns to the root menu. - Running macro which deletes groups could cause panel to freeze:
If you recorded a macro which contained instructions to delete a group then sometimes when running the macro the panel would freeze. - Recording macro over the top of existing macro:
If you attempted to record a macro over the top of another macro it would warn you but also run the macro. It now only warns you and does not run the macro. - Incorrect shutdown would cause desk to boot with "A fatal error has occurred":
Sometimes when incorrectly shutting down the console by removing the power supply the desk would re-boot with the error message "A fatal error has occurred.". The only way to resolve the error was to run a recovery disk. The console should now boot correctly if this error occurs. - Channel grid does not update correctly while closed:
If you open the channel grid and then close it, any changes you make to the programmer while the channel grid is closed will not be reflected when you open the channel grid again. - Pause when changing fixture page with HUD:
With a large amount of programming on the preset handles you might see a pause to fast running chases when changing fixture page with the HUD open. This now does not happen. - Editing chase in cue view whilst in unfold does not update unfold playbacks:
If you are editing values in cue view whilst also having the same chase unfolded the unfolded playbacks would not update.

- Update Personality:
Changes to personalities can mean that you need to update the personality of a fixture in your show. You can update the personality in Patch by selecting [Update Personality]. You are presented with a list of fixtures in your show which you can choose to update. The personality is updated from the Titan personalities folder. - Pearl Expert Wing:
Added support for the Expert Wing hardware addition. This is an external piece of hardware which you can purchase from Avolites which gives you a touch screen and additional wheels. When the wing is connected the attribute control is done by the three wheels on the wing while chase and cue list control remains on console. You also get an additional screen to move windows to and view information. - View Playback:
Selecting View and then a playback will open the playback view which contains details about the playback and what is recorded in that playback. - Window Manipulation:
The workspace windows are arranged in a 2 by 2 grid and each window can occupy any space within this grid. There are 4 controls which allow you to move and resize the windows. To use the control you first need to make the window active by selecting the window header, it should become highlighted.
- Min or Max - toggles the window between occupying all the space available and its current size and position.
- Size and Position - moves the window clockwise around the grid.
- Close - closes the window.
- Close All - closes all the windows.
- Screen - moves the window between the available screens.
When using a tiger touch or an expert wing these controls appear as hard keys but they are also available from the [Window Options] menu under the [View] button. You may also want to see the hotkey controls.
Some functions on the hard key require that the shift key is held.

- Window Options Menu:
A new [Window Options] menu has been added to the View menu to allow control of the new windows in the workspace. With this menu you can select an active window, move and resize, maximise, change the screen and close a window. This allows full control of a window and its appearance. On the Expert Wing and Tiger Touch there are dedicated buttons for these functions. - Window Option Shortcut Keys:
The following keyboard shortcut keys allow quick access to window options.

- On Screen Keyboard:
An on screen keyboard can now appear whenever you need to type. This duplicates the function of the keyboard in the drawer and is primarily for touch screens. You can set the keyboard to open whenever there is typing required by pressing the keyboard button on the top bar and selecting "Auto" when the keyboard opens. - Media Server Thumbnail Images:
For media servers that support the CITP protocol an image of media clips is displayed in the attribute editor window. The media server must have been patched as an active fixture first. - Expert Wing Playback Roller Display:
Information about the playbacks on the current roller page is displayed in the bottom of the expert wing screen. This allows you to see the playbacks on the current page and whether they are running. Basic timing information is also presented with current and next step in a cue list. - Playback View:
The playback view shows information about a playback and in the case of a cue list shows the cues in the playback. The playback view is opened by selecting View and then the playback you want to open or taping the playbacks display on the title of the playback.
- Lists each cue in the playback.
- Provides viewing and editing of the playback times.
- Provides viewing and editing of the playback options.
- Shows the timecode for each cue in the playback.
- Shows the Link for each cue in the playback.
- Shows the current curve for the cue.
- Indicates the live and next cue for a cue list.
- Lets you open a cue for editing.
- Use the wheels to select the next cue and currently selected cue.
Tapping or dragging in the grid takes you to the Edit Times menu or the Playback Options menu to edit the value.
- Cue View:
The cue view allows you to view and edit the contents of a cue within a playback. It lists all the fixtures and controls in the cue with the saved values for each control. You can then select values to directly edit the content of the cue.
The cue view is opened by first opening the playback view and then selecting the view button of the cue you want to look at.
- Displays all the fixtures in a cue.
- Displays all the controls in the cue.
- Shows the IPCBGES mask for each fixture in the cue.
- Shows the user number and name of each fixture.
- Shows the value of each control saved in the cue. Either the range value or the name of the function is shown.
- The control cells can be switched between displaying Value, Fade and Delay Time and Palettes.
- Select a number of controls and directly edit the values. Any changes will take immediate effect.
- Cue View Remove Attributes:
If you have added fixtures or attributes to a cue you do not want you can remove them using the Cue View. Open the Cue View, select the controls or fixtures you wish to remove and select [Delete] from the Cue View context menu.
- Cue View Time Editing:
When editing attribute times or group times the Cue view window will open on the VDU screen. This shows all the fixtures in the cue, all their attributes and any individual fade and delay times associated with them. You can set times either from the Edit Times menu by selecting with the softkeys and fixture handles or by selecting cells within the grid. - Window Scrolling with Wheels:
In scroll mode the wheels can be used for scrolling the windows. To enable scroll mode simply press the Scroll Mode key on the Expert Wing or the Tiger Touch and the LED should illuminate to indicate you can now scroll the windows. Press the key again to restore the wheels to their usual function. - Quick Record:
A new way of quickly recording items into handle windows allows you to double press an empty handle to instantly record a new item on that handle. The item recorded will be determined by the window type so the position palettes window will record a position palette and the groups window will record a new group. When you initially press the empty handle it will turn red with a plus icon, this indicates that another press will record the item. Not all windows support quick record but here is a list of ones that do.

After you have selected a handle you can type a legend for the new item before you press Enter or [Confirm]
- Integrated Visualiser Window:
The Avolites Visualiser has now been integrated into the software so it appears on another workspace window. To see the Visualiser select [Open Window] and then [Visualiser]. You have access to the Visualiser functions such as load and save theatre on the window context menu. It is useful to use the [Screen] button under [Window Options] to move it to the external monitor. There is also a new factory macro for opening Visualiser directly. - Visualiser Patch Synchronisation:
The Visualiser now updates when you patch or repatch fixtures. You no longer have to close and reload Visualiser to update your patch. - Visualiser Theatre Saved With Show:
The Visualiser theatre is now saved with the show file and restored when the the show is loaded. - Attribute Editor:
The attribute editor window provides a touch friendly way of selecting fixture attributes and choosing values for a fixture. The editor is split into a control selection area on the left and a function viewer area on the right.
The editor is opened either from the [Open Window] menu or through touching the attribute names in the wheel display. You can change the attributes being displayed by selecting a different attribute. This will either show 3 or 6 types of attributes in a list of buttons. Touching any button will apply that value and it should change to blue to indicate it is in the programmer. Selecting the attribute again will take it out of the programmer. The title of each attribute is displayed in the column header and this can be touched to expand out the item and display more functions.
When the chosen function is a range value you can change the value by holding down the button and sliding your finger left and right, a slide bar appears showing the current value in the range.
You can also select the attributes being displayed by clicking on the physical bank buttons.
- Colour Picker:
The colour picker appears when viewing CMY or RGB colour fixtures in the attribute editor. It allows you to quickly and easily select a colour. When you touch a colour a magnifying glass appears to help you select the colour you want.
- Marquee Selection:
When dragging in the handles window you now have a 'Marquee' style selection. This allows you to patch and select fixtures in columns, rows or rectangular groups. This makes it much easier to work with fixtures that are patched in an arrangement that represents where they are on the rig. - Workspace Handle Windows:
Four new windows have been added to store and organise palettes and groups. These are 'Groups', 'Colours', 'Positions' and 'Gobos and Beams'. They are accessed using the hardware keys or from the Open Workspace Window menu. There is a also a factory workspace called 'Groups and Palettes' which will open all four windows. Into these windows you can store palettes and groups arranged by type. You may store as many items as you like, as you record items more buttons will be added. You can record using the existing Record menus or the Quick Record function described below. - Macros Window:
A handle window has been added to store macros. It can opened by Selecting [Open Workspace Window] from the root menu and selecting [Macros]. It allows you to store as many macros as you wish. The first ten macros will appear on the dedicated macro buttons on the Tiger Touch and Expert Touch. - Fixtures Window:
A handle window has been added to store fixtures. Press the Fixtures hardware key or select [Open Workspace Window], [Fixtures] to open the Fixtures window. Here you can patch as many fixtures as you wish laid out in either a scrolling view or on pages using the [Show Pages] context menu button. - Pages in handle windows:
Each of the new handle windows (Fixtures, Groups, Colours, Beams, Positions, etc) can have page buttons enabled or disabled. In the context menu of a handle window select [Pages Show] to show a list of pages on the left hand side of the window. You can use these pages as a fast alternative to scrolling the window. You can name pages by using [Set Legend]. - Shapes Window:
The new shapes window allows you to quickly create shapes for the fixtures in the editor. Select some fixtures then open the Shapes window by using [Open Workspace Window] then selecting [Shapes]. The shapes window shows all the shapes that could be applied to the context fixture. Use the attribute bank buttons to select shapes for a particular attributes such as position or colour. Selecting a shape button will create a new shape on the selected fixtures and take you to the shape editor to set the properties of the shape. - Open Workspace Window:
A new button has been added to the root menu to open a workspace window. Select [Open Workspace Window] then select the window you wish to open. The window will be opened, brought to the front and focused. This menu allows you to open most of the workspace windows including Playbacks, Fixtures, Groups, Colours, Positions, Gobos and Beams, HUD, Channel Grid, Macros, Shapes, Attribute Editor, Visualiser, Fixtures and Playbacks and Groups and Palettes - Save Workspace:
The set of windows that are open on all attached screens and their size, position and display options can all be stored in a Workspace for easy recall. You can record a Workspace by holding down Avo and pressing View. You can then give the workspace a name and select which windows you wish to record. Then press a workspace button on a Tiger Touch or an Expert Touch or a grey palette button on an Expert. Pressing that button subsequently will set all the windows to the positions you recorded. Workspaces you record will be saved with the show. - Editor Status Bar:
On the Expert Wing And Tiger Touch screen above the window area the console now tells you which fixtures or groups are currently selected. This allows you to see which fixtures will be affected even if they aren't visible. - Move Handles From Compatibility Mode:
If you load a show created on the version 2 software or on an Expert and wish to move all the mixed content from the blue and grey preset handles to the Fixtures, Groups, Playbacks, Colours, Positions and Gobos and Beams windows you can do so easily using the Move to Workspace function. Open the compatibility view and select the [Fixtures and Playbacks] window or the [Palettes and Groups] window. From the context menu select [Move to Workspace] then [Confirm] from the softkey menu. This will move the handles from the compatibility window you selected. Repeat to move content from the other compatibility window. - Go Back:
There is a new key action for Cue Lists which runs the previous cue in the the cue list. Setting the blue and grey keys to Go and Go Back respectively allows you to easily step forward and back through lists. - Select Attribute Bank on Touch Screen:
You can now select attribute bank on the touch screen by touching the IPCGBES indicator on the Tiger Touch and Expert Touch. Touching an attribute multiple times cycles though the available pages. - Link and Link Offset:
Link has been overhauled to make it easier to understand and more powerful. For chases the options previously called 'Link From Last Cue On/Off' are now called 'Link After Previous Cue' and 'Link Wait For Go' respectively. The Cue Overlap function for chases has been removed, you should use a linked cue list instead. With Cue Lists there are now three options, 'Link Wait For Go', 'Link After Previous Cue' and 'Link With Previous Cue'. A Link Offset has been added. These work together as follows.
- 'Link Wait For Go' - The cue waits then fires immediately the Go button is pressed. The Link Offset is disabled.
- 'Link After Previous Cue' - The cue follows on as soon as the previous cue has finished its delay in and fade in time. A Link Offset can be set to add a delay between the first cue completing and this cue triggering. The offset can be specified either as a time or a percentage of the fade time of the previous cue.
- 'Link With Previous Cue' - The cue follows on as soon as the previous cue is triggered. A Link Offset can be set to add a delay between the previous cue starting and this cue starting. The Link Offset can be set either as a time in seconds or as a percentage of the fade time of the previous cue.
These options allow you to create complex self timed sequences by building up simple steps. For example if you wanted the following effect
- Go is pressed, Fixture one starts fading up over 20s
- After 10s Fixture two fades up over 15s
- Both lights stay on for 5s
- Both lights go off in 3s
You could program
- Cue 1 - Fixture 1 @ 100%, Fade In 20s, Link Wait For Go
- Cue 2 - Fixture 2 @ 100%, Fade In 15s, Link With Previous, Link Offset 10s
- Cue 3 - Fixture 1 AND 2 @ 0%, Fade Out 3s, Link After Previous, Link Offset 5s
- Window Pop-up Context Menu:
On the Pearl Expert if you do not have a wing attached a button appears in the top right hand corner of each window. Clicking this button reveals a pop-up context menu for that window. A dedicated close button is also added for convenience. - Latch Fixture:
A new key profile function 'Latch' is provided for working with fixtures on the touch screen. Touching once is equivalent to putting the preset fader to full for that fixture and touching again returns the fader to 0. In program mode this puts the fixture in the programmer, in run mode it does not. - Display Settings In System Mode:
A Display Settings menu has been added in System mode which allows you to configure what external screens or wings you have attached. We recommend always using at least one external screen with the Pearl Expert, either a monitor or a wing, on the Tiger Touch the external screen is sometimes helpful. For best performance disable any screens that are not attached. When you enable and disable screens windows will move to an enabled screen. When opening new windows they will attempt to open on the screen where they were last used. You cannot disable the built in touch screen on the Tiger Touch. - Factory Macro Library:
A number of macros have been added to the built-in macro library. You can assign these to buttons using the Macro, [Assign To Handle] function.

When including from a cue list it displays a list of cues in the cue list from which to select. - Patching Active Fixture Progress Prompt:
Patching an active fixture can take some time so a prompt is now displayed to reassure the user. - WPF Logging:
Status information from the WPF rendering system is now logged in the panel server exception log. - Unique Names for Block Shapes:
In the previous version all block shapes for Position, Colour etc would have the name "Block Shape". As the shapes would never be displayed in a single list this was not a problem. With the new shapes window the names needed to be unique and so the attribute group the block shape applies to has been appended to the name. - Visualiser Startup Speed:
The time taken for the Visualiser to open has been reduced. - Handle Visual Styles improved:
The visual style of handle buttons has been improved to make is easier to differentiate playbacks from fixtures and between fixtures that are selected and in the editor. - HUD Integration:
The HUD windows have been integrated with the workspace windows making them easier to manage with the hardware keys. The HUD layout can now be save in a Workspace allowing you to quickly save and recall HUD layouts. The old VDU views have been moved into the HUD window context menu. - Handle Pages Reset On New Show:
When you start a new show the handle pages now reset to their default values. - Wheel Consistency:
The Shape speed, Shape Size and Chase Speed wheels have been harmonised so that turning the wheel clockwise always makes the chase or shape go faster or larger. - Button Labelling In Playback Display:
If you set a long legend on a cue in a cue list the button label would show the middle part of the legend and not the button function. Now it always shows the button function and as much legend as will fit. - Warning Icons:
The Tiger Touch now has the ability to show warnings in the softkeys in line with the Expert. Warning icons will be shown if a function is currently unavailable, to warn that you may have made a mistake or to warn of possibly unexpected side effects. Consult the manual for detailed information on a particular warning. - Group Selection Display:
Groups now show as deselected when all the fixtures in the group are removed from the programmer, not just when you press Clear. This makes it easier to work with groups in a show environment where you rarely press Clear. - Switch Channel Grid Between Levels, Palettes and Playbacks:
The Channel Grid can now show levels, palette names or controlling playbacks for all the controls on all patched fixtures or for fixtures in the programmer. Switching between these views allows you to quickly determine what a fixture is doing and why and to understand exactly what is being recorded in a cue. This option is also stored in a workspace. - Fan With One Fixture Selected:
If you have fan selected and only one fixture previously the wheels would not change the fixture attributes. Now Fan is ignored if only one fixture is selected. - Channel Grid Show Off:
The Channel Grid now indicates when fixture attributes in the programmer are set to OFF. - Channel Grid Performance:
The speed and reliability of the Channel Grid have been significantly improved. - Channel Grid Palette Name reliability:
The reliability of the channel grid has been improved when showing palette names. It now updates correctly if a palette changes even if the underlying value doesn't. It also updates correctly when opening the grid and changing display mode. - Editing Values In Channel Grid:
You can now edit and clear values directly in the channel grid. Open the grid in Output or Program mode, drag select some cells and either type a new value on the key pad or select a function from the softkey menu. Pressing Enter sets the value in the programmer. The softkey menu also has a Clear button to remove the selected attributes from the programmer. - Virtual Keyboard Auto Pop-Up Control:
There is now a button on the virtual keyboard to control whether it pops up automatically when text input is required. The option defaults to on unless a hardware keyboard is attached. In either case the behaviour can be overridden by toggling the button which is in the top right next to Min/Max. - Virtual Keyboard Shows Case:
The virtual keyboard now reflects the state of the shift button by showing the key legends in the correct case. - Touch Screen Calibration Shown In Front:
Previously the top touch screen calibration point could be obscured by the toolbar. The calibration window is now brought to the front. - Mask Settings Retained:
All the mask settings (such as Clear mask, Locate mask, Palette Record mask, etc) are now retained when you restart the console and when you reload a show. - Store Macro Anywhere:

On Tiger Touch and Pearl Expert you can now set the display resolution of the external monitor directly from the Tools menu for easy access. Select Tools -> Control Panel -> External Monitor and select the native resolution of your display. - Copy, Link, Move Menu Clearer:
The Copy, Link, Move menu has been improved by separating the toggle button out to three softkeys. This makes it clearer which one is selected and quicker to change between them. You can still toggle options by pressing the Copy button repeatedly and Avo + Copy still goes directly to Move. - Dongle Information:
If you start the software without an authorised Avolites Titan Dongle you will now be warned on the VDU and LCD screens. - Timecode Reliability:
With timecode sources running at speeds other than 24fps timecode controlled cue lists were sometimes jerky. In addition the resilience of Titan to a noisy timecode source has been improved. Previously a jittery timecode could cause a timecoded cue list to jump. - And, Thro And @ Buttons:
In the Channel menu the grey keys now act as And, Thro, and @ buttons as shown on the Tiger Touch and new Expert laminate. - Off works by Mask instead of Bank:
Previously you could only set attributes to Off one bank at a time. Now you can use the bank buttons to create a mask and set multiple attribute groups to Off at once. Press the Off key, use the bank buttons to set the mask then press the [Attributes Off] softkey.

When you are repatching fixtures, if you changed the user number it would reset the DMX Address. - Incompatibility between D4 personalities and Titan:
Differences in the way personalities were displayed in Titan meant that some personalities would not display function names correctly. - Editing Handle Numbers in Fixture Patch View:
Found in version: 2.0 An issue with manually assigning handle numbers in the fixture patch view has been resolved. On Tiger Touch if you entered a handle number the page assigned would be 1 more than the page displayed. - Setting Cue List Delay In To Fractional Amount:
Found in version: 2.0 An issue with assigning fractional delay in times to cue list cues has been resolved. Previously the text input field for 'Delay In' would not accept the decimal point. - Channel Grid Failed To Load Columns When Switching View:
Found in version: 2.0 There was an issue with the Channel Grid where if you went into Programmer mode and cleared the programmer then went back to Output it would not always reload the columns. This has been fixed. - Playbacks View Showed Extra Letter:
Found in version: 2.0 A display issue with the Playbacks display has been resolved. When setting a legend on a playback if you deleted all the letters of the legend you had typed the playbacks display would continue to show the first letter until you started to enter a new legend. - Playbacks View Failed With Deleting Cues In Unfold:
Found in version: 2.0 The Playbacks display had an issue where if a number of cues were deleted in Unfold it could show blank. This has been resolved. - Connected Playback Wheel View Would Not Update:
Found in version: 2.0 The connected playback wheel view would not update if you added cues whilst the playback was live. In order to update the list of cues you had to disconnect the playback and connect again. Now the view updates dynamically as you add cues. - Groups Showed Incorrect Number:
Found in version: 2.0 If you recorded groups without a legend then the group handle button would show the handle index of the group instead of the user number. The group button now always shows the user number. - Fixture LEDs stay lit after delete:
Found in version: 2.0 When deleting a lot of fixtures some LEDs stayed lit until you changed page. This is resolved. - Attribute Options Assigned To Two Wheels:
Found in version: 2.0 On consoles with three attribute wheels the Attribute Options menu only assigned attributes to two. Now it assigns the correct number of attributes. - Clear Button Fails To Clear Locate Intensity:
Found in version: 2.0 Occasionally Clear could fail to clear fixture intensity. If you located a fixture so the light came on, edited an individual attribute then cleared that individual attribute the Clear function would no longer clear the fixture's locate values unless you selected the fixture again. - Replace Shared Palette:
Found in version: 2.0 If you replaced the contents of a shared palette with another shared palette with more than one kind of fixture in the programmer it would only record one fixture type. This is resolved. - Update Palette:
Found in version: 2.0 If you set a mask in the record palette menu then subsequently used update palette the record palette mask was used to filter the update. This led to updates in the programmer sometimes not getting merged into the palette. Update palette now always records all the changes in the update palette programmer. - Copy Fixture And Shape:
Found in version: 2.0 If you copied a fixture it would not always be included in all the shapes the source fixture was included in. It now copies all the shape parameters from the source fixture in every cue. - Crash When Autoloading A List From Itself:
Found in version: 2.0 If you autoloaded a cue list from a cue within that list Titan could crash. This has been resolved. - Record By Stage From Cues To Cue List:
Found in version: 2.0 Recording a cue list from existing cues using Record By Stage did not work correctly, only the first cue took any information from the live cues. Now all lit fixtures are recorded.

- Entering a new DMX Address on subsequent patches will add to the original address:
This issue is on the Tiger Touch console only and relates to entering a DMX address during patch. After you have patched the first fixture, if you try and type in the next address it will be appended to the end. To get around this press the right arrow key before inputting a value to clear the field. - Fixtures auto patched in Visualiser appear really small:
If the default theatre is set to blankmm.ttr (instead of blackinches.ttr) or the user loads in a theatre file originally created from the blackmm.ttr theatre, new fixtures added to the theatre automatically (on patch or copy) will appear really small. To resolve this issue load the blankinches.ttr theatre and then close and re-open Visualiser. - Loading Chases from V2.0 Show can result in delay between steps:
When you load a chase from a V2.0 show it will load the link as With Previous, most of the time this is not a problem and has no effect. However if you set the global link to "Always Link Steps" it will become "Link After" with 100% offset causing a delay after each step. To fix this you need to toggle the link on each step in playback view. - When selecting handles backwards it is possible to move them off the page:
When moving items if you select the items backwards it is easy to select a handle which moves some handles off the page. To fix this either do not select items backwards or once done use view fixture patch to re-assign the handles. - Very occasionally unfolded steps are not correctly displayed in HUD:
Occasionally if you unfold the chase the HUD will not display all the unfolded steps. Closing and opening the HUD will fix the problem. - Auto-palettes overwrite user palettes:
When patching a fixture with auto-palettes if there are any user palettes in the way they will be deleted. It is a good idea to avoid the user palettes being in the way of auto palettes by moving them first. - Cue view does not show shapes:
Selecting to show shapes in cue view will not work and no shapes are displayed. - Auto patch in Visualiser can cause slowdown:
With Visualiser open and set to automatically update any changes to the fixture patch may become slow. This is particularly a problem with parking fixtures but may also occur when fixtures are copied. To fix this problem switch "Auto Update" option to "Update Disabled" or close Visualiser window.

Upgrading from: 1.2:
Please ensure you save and backup your shows before attempting to upgrade any software. An automated upgrade path from version Pearl Expert Titan 1.2 is provided. Upgrading from any other version requires the running of a Pearl Expert Titan 2.0 recovery disk. You can download the latest Pearl Expert Titan software from
Avolites download. Please save the software to a USB stick or other media and follow these instructions. Insert the USB stick in the console and click on the yellow 'Folder Browser' icon on main menu bar of the console. This may be hidden by other windows, so minimise them to see the toolbar. Find the setup file you saved to the USB stick double click to run it. Follow the instructions presented by the installer, taking care to read each step carefully. Once the setup completes you need to restart the console by using the power button under the arm rest on the far left. When the console restarts it should be updated to the new software, please check this by reading the version number in the panel server.

- Individual Playback Key Profile:
Each playback can now be assigned individual key profiles to customise what the panel buttons do for each playback. You can change the key profile for a playback in [Playback Options] by selecting "Key Profile". A list of available profiles are provided or you could add a new one. When set to “None” the default global profile is used. - In Programmer Indication:
Whether a fixture is in the programmer is now displayed on the HUD, Fixture LEDs and the LCD Intensity view. On the Head Up Display a fixture in the programmer is indicated by a dark blue highlight. On the LED’s it is not indicated by default but you can change the level in the user settings to indicate the In Programmer state. On the LCD screen the level of the fixture is underlined when in the programmer. - Set playback and fixture page legends:
You can now set the legend for playback and fixture pages, each page has its own legend. To change the legend, select "Set Legend" and then "Page Legends". You edit the legend for the current page and you will need to change page to set a different pages legend. The legends are displayed in the main prompt on the LCD screen and in the HUD. - Fixture Selection Highlight in Visualiser:
The currently selected fixtures are now highlighted in blue within the Avolites Visualiser application. - Change LED Levels:
You can now change the LED levels used to indicate the different state of items on the handle. This can be useful if you are in a bright environment and can not see the LEDs properly. To set the intensity of the LEDs go to User Settings and select "LED Levels". You can then select the different levels to change Empty, Occupied Handle, Selected and In Programmer. The level is adjusted on the wheels. - Next/Previous Chase Step:
Use the Forwards [->] and Backwards [<-] keys to move to the next or previous step when a chase that is paused. You need to connect the chase first and select stop. - Preload:
You can now preload any cue, chase or cue list simply by pressing either the blue or grey handle keys. This will initialise any fixtures in the playback that are not active in any other playbacks. To use preload you must have setup a key profile that assigns preload to either the grey or blue keys (you can edit Key Profiles in the system menu) - View Key Profile:
When you are editing key profiles in the system menu it now displays all the key assignments for the whole profile on the LCD screen. This allows you to see quickly what action is assigned to which button. There are two ways you can view the profile. The first is to turn the key to System, select Key Profiles | View Profile and then select the profile you want to see. You can also view the profile when you create it or edit it by selecting "Add Profile" in the key profiles menu. - Copy Key Profiles:
When adding a new profile you can select an existing profile to copy the settings from - Cue List Timecode:
Timecode on a cue list allows you to play a cue list automatically from one of the supported timecode sources. It currently supports four sources Clock, Internal, MIDI and Winamp. Each step in the cue list is assigned a time at which that step will run. To set up timecode you first play and connect to the cue list. Then select [Timecode] from the root menu. Change the timecode source to the desired source and the select [Record] to enable recording. It will now record the times as you step the each cue using the [Go] button. Once you have finished press [Record] again to stop recording. To play back you will need to enable the cue list for timecode and enable the timer. You can edit individual timecode times by selecting the cue with wheel A and pressing enter to type in a new value. When editing a value you can also select multiple cues to edit using wheel B and offset the values by a specified amount. - Change Key Profile in Program:
You can now change the key profile in program mode as well as run mode. Select [Shift(Avo)] and [Select Key Profile]. - Cue List Autoload:
You can assign playbacks to load when a cue list step is fired. To set an Autoload, select [Playback Options] and the cue list you want to assign the autoload to. In playback options select [Autoload]. You should now see a list of cues in the cue list which you can select with the wheel. Select the cue you want to fire a playback in and then select the playback you want to fire using the blue keys. The playback legend should appear on the softkeys. The playback will be fired when the cue starts and killed when it moves to the next cue unless you also autoload the playback into the next step. The softkeys allow you to set the autoload options for the target playbacks. As well as firing a playback you have the facility to go to a specific cue in a cue list or trigger a Go press on a cue list. - Lock Playback:
You can now lock a playback so it always appears on the current page no matter which page is selected. To lock a playback select [Playback Options] and then the playback you want to lock. Change the "Handle Paging" to "Locked". The handle should now always appear on the current page. You can also set the lock to transparent, in this mode the playback will always appear on the current page if no other playback appears in that position. - Save and Load Show to USB Stick:
You can now save and load a show directly to and from a USB stick connected to the console. If you have a stick connected and you enter load show it will ask you whether you want to load from the "Internal Hard Drive" or "Removable Disk *:/". Select "Removable Disk" to list all the shows you can load from the USB stick. Save show is similar as it allows you to select the drive when entering the show name. We have also added a list of existing shows to the save show menu so you can easily select a show name that already exists on the console. - More Attributes on Wheels:
If you select an attribute bank which has more attributes than available wheels then this is indicated by a small arrow in the wheel display. You can then press the attribute bank key again to toggle through the attributes. - Filtered Palettes:
You can now apply a palette to only the fixtures in a playback by holding the palette key and selecting the playback to apply the palette to. - Edit Palette:
The edit palette function now restores your original programmer to avoid it breaking your work flow. When you enter edit palette it will save your programmer and then load in the information for the palette you are editing. You can make any adjustments and then exit. The changes to the palette will be saved and your original programmer state loaded. The programmer will be left in exactly the same state as before you started editing the palette. - Release All Playbacks:
There is a new option in the Off menu to Release all running playbacks to the power on state. - Apply Group With Pattern:
When applying a group, if you hold down the group button, you can select or type a pattern and only part of the group will be selected. For example, holding down a group and pressing [A] Odd will select just the odd fixtures from that group. - Macro Recording:
You now have ability to record sequences of key presses as Macros and play them back with a single key press. To record a macro hit [Insert/Macro] then [B] Record and press a vacant preset flash key. The console will then record all your key presses into that macro until you press [Insert/Macro] again. To replay the macro simply hit the key on which you recorded the macro. - Go To Cue:
You can now go directly to a cue in a running chase or cue list. When a chase or cue list is selected press Connect and type the next cue number followed by ENTER. Alternatively type the cue number in the root menu and hit Connect. - Intensity Grid View:
The LCD now shows the intensity of all the fixtures on the current page. The fixtures are shown in a grid arranged by handle number. A dot shows a position with a fixture that is not lit. If the fixture is lit the output intensity is shown as a percentage (with FL to represent 100%). If the fixture is in the programmer it will be underlined and if it is selected it will be shown inverted. - Master Palette Time:
You can now set a master time in the palette menu and all palettes applied will default to fading in that time unless you type a time manually. - Pattern Selection:
You can now apply a pattern to your selection to work on certain fixtures within your selection. Select some fixtures and press [All] then select a pattern from the softkeys. Built in patterns include 'Odd', 'Even', '1 in 3', '1 in 4' and '1 in 6'. When you apply a pattern, for example '1 in 3', your selection is filtered to show only the first fixture in each group of three. Using the wheels and applying palettes etc will only operate on the first of every group of three. Pressing [Next] will change your selection to the 2nd and 3rd in each group. You can also define your own patterns by typing them on the numeric keypad. The pattern will continue to apply until you either press [Clear] or press [All] twice. This feature lets you quickly and easily build chases and lists that operate on repeating groups of fixtures. - Playback Priority:
The priority of the playback allows you to determine which playbacks can override each other. With basic LTP it is the latest playback which controls the channel such as colour. Using priority you can prevent a lower priority playback from changing the channel. You can also use the priority to exempt playbacks from being swopped. When you swop a playback it can only take out playbacks at the same or lower priority. Any playbacks with a higher priority will remain on. You can set the priority in playback options and you have 4 levels Low, Normal, High, Very High.

The clear programmer options “Auto Reset Mask”, “Leave Preset Fader Levels” and “Release After Clear” have been moved to a separate [Clear Options] menu. This can be accessed by holding down clear and selecting [Clear Options] - Include cue in cue list or chase:
When including a cue from a cue list you now see a list of the cues available to include on the LCD screen. Using wheel A, select which cue you want to include (or type in the cue number as before) - Setting of fade times:
Some changes have been made to make it easier to enter times in the edit times menu.
- When you press enter it will confirm the change and deselect the item (exit will also apply the time)
- Selecting an item again to edit will not deselect the item
- It no longer moves to the next item when enter is pressed
- Always selects the last edit item when entering the times menu
- Attribute mask editing is clearer:
To make it easier to edit the attribute mask it now highlights the attribute groups which are in the mask on the softkeys. Large IPCBGES letters have been added to quickly see which group you are selecting. - Quick and Advanced include selection made simpler:
Before the selection of quick and advanced include was on a toggle key but it was not always easy to tell which mode you where in. This has now been split onto two softkeys ([Quick] and [Advanced]) and the selected mode is highlighted. - Patch View New Line:
When in patch view and you press enter, the cursor moves to editing the next row. However if you enter a value that was incorrect it would also move down a line. It now only moves the cursor to the next line if the edit was successful. - Palette fade time on numeric pad:
An option existed to fix the fade time for a palette in the numeric menu and then set another value such as overlap. This option has been removed so you now just type in the time and select the palette. To set the overlap you need to type the overlap first fix it using the overlap button and then type the fade time followed by selecting the palette. - Patch view park option:
If you are re-assigning DMX addresses in patch view and you try to assign a DMX address which is in use by another fixture it now asks you if you want to park that fixture. - Park in patch view:
To park a fixture in the patch view you can just delete the DMX address using the left arrow key (or backspace on the keyboard). - Locate through channel menu:
Locate now works with channel select commands so you can type 10 THRO 20 [Locate] and it will locate fixtures 10 through to 20. - Use of punctuation within legends:
You can now use the following punctuation characters in a legend: ( ) ! @ # $ % ^ & * . < > , - + _ = ' - Read only key profiles:
We have made the default key profiles read only so that they can not be edited. This means that when you come to a desk you always know how the default profiles will behave. To customise a profile you just need create your own profile. To help this process we have also added the ability to copy an existing profile when you create a profile. - Quick profile edit:
The quick profile edit function allows you to easily change the action of a specific key when in program mode. To edit you simply hold down [Shift(Avo)] and select [Edit Key Profile], then select the key you want to change the action for. It will then allow you to choose the action for this key and adjust the profile accordingly. Note that this will change the action for all keys of this type. - Colour picker:
The colour picker is now displayed on the wheel view in Titan when you select the colour mix bank of a fixture that supports colour mix. - Set cue legend on cue list or chase:
You can now set a legend on a cue in a cue list from the [Set Legend] menu. When you select a cue list to set the legend on as well as allowing you to input a legend for the playback it also allows you to set a legend for the current cue. A list of all cues in the list is provided on the LCD screen and you can use wheel A to select the cue. - Release chase playback option:
You can now select a release mask for chases. Previously this was only available for cues or cue lists. - Fixture attribute control in Run mode:
You can now select fixtures and adjust their attributes in run mode as well as in program mode. - Release Playback:
Although playback release was in earlier versions it would only release the channels to the power on state. It now releases to the previous playback until no playbacks are left to release and then it goes to the power on level. To enable release you need to set the release mask in playback options. The mask allows you to define which attributes are released. The channels will always release with a fade time of 2 seconds. You can also release a running playback by pressing [Off] and then selecting the playback to release. - Update Cue List :
When recording a cue list entering an existing cue number will allow you to update an existing cue or insert a cue before or after the specified one. - Next and Previous Cue in Edit Times and Playback Options:
In Playback Options and Edit Times when a Cue List is selected you can now use the Next [->] and Previous [<-] Cue buttons as well as the wheel to select the cues in the list. - Swap handles when moving:
There is a new option in the Move Menu ([Avo] + [Photo Copy]) to swap any conflicting target handles. This means that any handles in the way at the destination of the move will be moved to the positions of the source handles. This makes it easier to rearrange handles when the page is nearly full.

- Prevented multiple instances of Visualiser:
Having multiple copies of Visualiser running could cause confusion as to which copy you should be using. The software has been changed to prevent you opening multiple copies. If you try and open a second instance it will simply front the already running copy. - Cue list link from previous cue was miss named:
In edit times for a cue list step the "Link from Previous Cue" was miss named as "Link to next Step". - Highlight always highlights selection:
Fixtures are now highlighted if in the selection and highlight is enabled. Before they would only highlight if the selection was in solo mode. - Delay out in edit times:
The delay out time in edit times now explicitly says it is the same as the Delay In time instead of "None"

- Sometimes keyboard does not work in Windows:
Occasionally the keyboard would not work in Windows because the panel was still expecting you to type something. This has been fixed so the panel releases the keyboard to Windows when the keyboard is not required. The Esc key can also be used to release the keyboard to Windows. - Unable to snap back past a linked cue:
If you had a cue list which contained a linked cue and you tried to snap back through the steps it would snap back until you reached the linked cue and then remain on that cue. - Fixture overlap did not work on Mode 1 or 2 when fade time was 0s:
If the fade time of a cue was 0s and you applied overlap in Mode 1 or 2 then the overlap would have no effect. - Wheel display not updated when changing Intensity in channel menu:
When changing intensity values in channel menu the wheel display was not always updated to reflect the new levels. - Shapes not fading out:
If a cue had a fade time and you killed the playback the shape would snap out and not fade gracefully. - Save show suggests “Auto Save” as a name:
The save show function would suggest "Auto Save" or "Shutdown" as a show name when saving a show. It now suggests the name of the currently loaded show or is blank if the show has not been saved. - Recording empty chase or cue list:
Recording a cue list or chase with no steps would cause the console to behave strangely with those playbacks. The rest of the desk would continue to run normally due to the error recovery system. - Shape generator, no fixtures warning:
Sometimes the shape generator would warn you that no fixtures where selected even if there were. - Delete shape stops running shapes:
If you deleted a shape which contained attributes in a live shape on a playback then the live shape would stop running. - Visualiser not always opening:
If the Visualiser is closed manually using the mouse then [Show Visualiser] option in the view menu would not always work. - Unable to turn off highlight in Run mode:
If you have highlight enabled and change to run mode you have no way to turn off highlight. This has been changed so you can now turn off highlight in run mode. - Re-patch ignores the warn before you patch user setting:
When re-patching a fixture it would ask you if you wanted to park a conflicting fixture even if you had the "Warn Before Parking Fixtures" option set to never. - Grand master applying fixture overlap:
When you changed the grand master level it would fade the playbacks using any overlap set in the times. It now simply masters the intensity without overlap. - Playbacks would sometimes disconnect:
If you had a playback connected and then used the wheels to edit an attribute value. The connected view for the playback would not return when you pressed clear. - Chase will not run with 0% xFade and reversed:
If you have a chase with 0% xFade and reversed then it would not run. - User number box incorrectly appearing in Set Legend:
If you were setting the legend for a cue and you pressed the [Legend] softkey, the user number entry would appear even though you can not set a user number for cues. - Warning icon in set legend menu:
In the set legend menu a warning icon would appear on User Number whenever you first selected an item. The icon now only appears if the user number is changed to an invalid value. - Delete Fixture From Patch Only:
You can now only delete fixtures by pressing [Patch] [Delete] this prevents accidental deletion of fixtures and consequential loss of programming. - Show HUD sometimes only showed part:
Occasionally pressing Show HUD would only show the playback section. It will now show all the sections. - Fixture Patch View could get outdated:
When repatching and parking fixtures in some cases the fixture patch view could show the old DMX addresses not the current one. This has been resolved. - Flash locked Mode 2 cues:
Pressing the flash button on a mode 2 cue whilst the cue was fired on the fader would cause it not to return to its start position when the fader was pulled back. You can now flash and swop a mode 2 cue and it will return to the position it had when it was first fired. - Grand master and Locate:
If a fixture was in the programmer or located the Grand Master would not correctly scale the output level. All outputs are now mastered by the Grand Master.

- Stage View may make Titan unstable:
Please ensure Stage View is closed before changing DMX output or IP address settings. - Can not save show after entering activation code:
After the Recovery CD has been run and an activation code has been entered Save show will not work until the console is restarted. It is very important to restart the console immediately after entering an Activation code. - If exchanging a fixture to a type already patched in the show, shared palettes for that type may be overwritten:
After completing the fixture exchange go through all palettes for the same type of fixture updating them as necessary.

- Auto Connect User Option:
A new user option has been added to control whether a chase or cue list is automatically connected to the wheels when fired. - LCD contrast and brightness and lamp intensity:
LCD contrast and brightness and lamp intensity can now be adjusted using the wheels from the System menu. - Align fixtures:
You can now copy fixture attributes from one fixture to another in the programmer. Select the fixtures you wish to align, press ML MENU, Align Fixtures, set the mask to the attribute groups you want to copy and press the handle of the fixture you want to align to. - Flip:
You now have the ability to flip fixtures, that is, to put them in the same position but with the opposite combination of pan and tilt. To flip one or more fixtures select them, and press ML MENU, Flip Pan and Tilt. - Preset Palettes:
When you patch fixtures there is now an option to automatically create default colour, gobo and position palettes from the fixture personalities. These will be assigned to palette handles 1-30. - Fixture intensity feedback:
The console now displays the current fixture intensity on the HUD and, optionally, on the handle LED. - Numeric values for attributes:
If you type a numeric value in the program menu you can now assign it to an attribute which is live on the wheels. Select the fixtures, select the attribute bank, type the new value and press softkey E or F to assign it. - Clear:
Clear has been enhanced with a number of new features. When you hold down the clear button you can now adjust the mask and only clear some attribute groups. There is also a menu option to clear an individual attribute. There are further options to only clear the selected fixtures and to clear the preset fader levels which allows you to easily kill fixtures left up on a different page. - Channel menu:
You can now select and modify fixture attributes numerically in the channel menu. Press channel and type commands using the numeric keypad and the extra And, Not, Through, @, Full, Off, + and - buttons that appear on the softkeys. The toggle on softkey A allows you to select fixtures by user number, handle, or DMX address. To select a fixture, type the fixture number and press enter. To select more than one fixture, press And between each number, to add a range press Through and to remove a fixture from the selection prefix it with Not. All these commands can be chained together so for example 1 ENTER Selects fixture 1 1 AND 2 AND 5 AND 9 ENTER Selects fixtures 1, 2, 5 + 9 1 THROUGH 10 ENTER Selects fixtures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 + 10 1 THROUGH 5 NOT 3 AND 9 AND 12 THROUGH 14 ENTER Selects fixtures 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 12, 13, 14 You can also work with groups in a similar way using the GROUP key GROUP 1 AND GROUP 2 NOT 5 Selects the fixtures in groups 1 and 2 but not fixture 5 With fixtures selected you can set levels by using @ then typing a level or using one of the shortcuts Full and Off. By using + and - you can change the level of a set of fixtures relative to their current values. Using the Backspace key (<-) you can go back and edit the command you are entering if you make a mistake. You can abandon a command by pressing the Clear Line key (->) When working with the channel menu it may help to latch it by press in the ML MENU button. - Link playback:
You can now create a linked copy of any playback. The linked copy will always have the same cue information in it but it can have different timings and playback options. You create a linked copy by pressing Photo Copy then toggling option A or by pressing Photo Copy twice. You then select one or more playbacks as a source and press an empty handle to set the destination. - Cue Lists:
The Expert now has full cue list functionality. Cue lists allow you to record a sequence of cues to be played back under the control of a single button. Each cue has comprehensive timing and ordering control allowing you to build a complete show in a single list. You create a cue list by pressing the Chase button twice then selecting an empty handle. Recording a cue list is similar to recording a chase; you create each scene in turn then append cues to the list using Softkey D or by pressing the cuelist's select button. You may set the fade time, delay time and legend for the next cue in the menu before you record it. Once recorded you play back a cue list by raising the fader and firing each step with the Go button. By default cue lists are not killed when you lower the fader but by holding the shift (AVO) key and pressing the handle select. You can change this in the playback options menu. When a cue list is connected you can use Wheel A and the direction keys to change the next step, SNAP BACK and the key above it to snap forward and backward in a list, Review to run the live step again, LIVE TIME and NEXT TIME to set times on the live and next cues and REC STEP to update the live step. When editing times on a cue list use the wheel to scroll through the list and set fixture and attribute times on any cue. You can also set cue times from Unfold.

- Recording memory onto fixture handle will fail:
In the previous version, if you recorded a memory onto a handle containing a fixture it would do nothing and exit the menu. This gave no indication that it had not worked. It now stays in the menu and allows you to select a handle that is empty. - Quick Include:
To include a playback you press include and select a playback. There are two types of include and these can be set in the softkey menu. You can now also use the include button to toggle between Quick include and Advanced include. You now set the mask for include without going into the advanced menu by setting it before you select the playback. - Fixture Overlap now also applies to attribute times:
When you set an attribute time then the overlap of the playback is also applied to this attribute. It would have simply just faded the channels together before. - Select attribute bank in store palette menu:
If you had the store palette menu latched you could not change attribute banks because the attribute bank buttons set the palette mask. Now you can manipulate the mask in the Set Mask menu and the bank buttons let you change attribute in the Store Palette menu. - Wheels:
The wheels now have acceleration when controlling fixture attributes allowing you scroll through large ranges quickly. You can now also use Shift-Wheel to quickly change chase and shape parameters. - Shape manipulation:
You can now change shape parameters for individual fixtures by changing the selection whilst in the shape generator. You can adjust the shape phase either in degrees or by spread which is the number of fixtures after which the shape repeats. You can also set the phase offset to run multiple shapes following one another. The HUD now shows each fixture's shape parameters as you edit them. You can now edit shapes which you have included from cues. - Range Delete:
You can now delete multiple items at once by range selecting them in the Delete menu. - HUD colours:
The HUD has been improved to make the text easier to read on small screens and to make it easier to distinguish fixtures, palettes, groups and playbacks. - Set legend:
The set legend menu has been improved to allow you to set legends and user numbers on multiple items. - Locate:
In the locate menu (accessed by holding down the locate button) there is now an option to remember the state of the mask. This can be used to repeatedly locate a subset of the attributes. There is also a new option to clear (remove from the the programmer) any attributes that are located. - Wipe all:
The new show function from the Disk menu is now also available in the system menu in a position more familiar to Pearl users. - Fixture Patch:

- Re-firing a playback with a shape will stop the shape:
If you had a playback which had a shape and was set to mode 2 with a fade time and if you re-fired the playback before the fade time completed the shape would not start running again but fade out. - When record group fails it ends up in the wrong menu:
If you recorded a group over an existing group it will warn you that you can not do this. If you hit cancel it would end up in the wrong menu. - Altering chase speed quickly could cause the software to become sluggish:
If you were to change a chase's speed very quickly it could cause the software to become sluggish for a few seconds. - Overlapping swops results in shapes running:
If you pressed two swop keys at once and only released one all shapes in the running unswopped memories would start running even though a swop key was still held. - Fade times were ignored in chases with fixture overlap:
If you had set a fade time in a chase and also set a fixture overlap time then it would ignore both the fade time and overlap. The fixtures would then snap to their positions. This only occurred when the overlap was set. - Wheels in control of Pan and Tilt but display shows chase:
It was possible to get in a state where the wheels would change attributes but the LCD screen was showing the connected chase. This can no longer happen. - Fixtures left from a previous show:
In rare circumstances when patching a new show the HUD could show the fixture legends and types from the previous show until you changed page or restarted the console. This can no longer occur. - Blank HUD items:
An issue where sometimes on startup, or after patching new fixtures, a few HUD slots would remain blank until you changed page has been resolved. - Merging shared and normal palettes:
Merging shared and normal palettes now works correctly. - Fixture patch view disappeared:
There was circumstance in which the fixture patch view could disappear causing the softkeys to fill the whole screen, this is resolved. - Reverse shape:
The reverse shape option has been fixed. - Attribute layer reset:
Previously if you had the second layer of an attribute group selected (e.g. gobo rotation) and you changed the fixture selection to the same kind of fixture it would jump to layer one. If possible it now retains the same layer. - Merge killed live step in unfold:
In unfold if you had a cue live on a fader and you merged the programmer contents into that step the step would be killed and you would have to move the fader to fire it again. The cue is no longer killed. - Shared palettes don’t fire after fixture exchange:
After doing a fixture exchange a shared palette would not fire in the programmer until after an update. This is now fixed

- Unable to type using keyboard in Windows:
Normally the keyboard is only unavailable to Windows when a text input is required on the LCD screen. Sometimes it will not work in Windows. To release control from the panel you need to press Esc and this will allow you to type in Windows.

- Tap (twice) to set chase tempo:
In run mode you can use the tap tempo option in the root menu to set the chase step time. The time will be set to the time between each button press. If after 5 seconds you do not make a second button press then the time will not be assigned. This option only appears when you have a connected chase and only updates the speed for the connected chase. You can also access this feature on a blue or grey handle button by selecting the tap tempo option in key profiles. - Hold Shift to speed up wheels:
Holding down the Avo shift key, causes the wheels to go into fast mode. When in this mode a single rotation of the wheel will always be the complete range of the item you are controlling. So if while moving the Pan wheel you hold down shift the fixture will make a complete pan movement between end stops in one rotation of the wheel. - Patch multiple dimmers to a single handle:
You can patch multiple dimmer channels to a single fixture handle. This is done by patching another dimmer over the top of an existing dimmer. You can tell that the dimmer has been patched because the DMX address will increment. This allows you to control two dimmer channels with the same handle so that every time you change the intensity of that handle it will modify both dimmer channels. - Key/Handle profiles and Run Modes:
The standard Run Mode Normal and Run Mode Takeover have been added to this version but also extended to give you extra flexibility and control. As with previous Pearls you have the option of switching between two run modes. This is done while the key switch is set to run and by selecting [Select Profile] in the root menu. A quick method of switching between modes is by toggling [Switch Profile To {profile name}], this will switch to the previously selected profile. You can also create your own profiles selecting [Key Profiles] in the system menu. This gives you the ability to customise what happens when a particular handle key is pressed for a fixture or playback. Once you have created your own profile, this will be added to the list of possible profiles in run mode. - Numeric palette selection:
You can now select a palette by typing in the palette number on the numeric keypad and selecting [Apply Palette]. You will notice that if you enter the number of a palette that does not exist, a little warning symbol appears next to [Apply Palette]. - Highlight attributes that are in the programmer in the wheel view:
When an attribute in the programmer is displayed in the wheel view, the attribute will be highlighted to indicate it is in the programmer. This provides a quick way to see if attributes are in the programmer or not. - Enable or disable Auto Save in disk menu:
When you go into the disk menu and select [Auto Save] you have the option to enable or disable the auto save by toggling [Auto Save]. You can also set the frequency with which the auto save will occur by changing the [Duration]. It is advisable that during programming you have auto save enabled to prevent you loosing your show if a power failure occurs. When running your show you should have auto save disabled as it could effect the performance of the console or cause momentary pauses. - Playback Options:
You can now set options for the different playback types. To change the playback options you need to select [Playback Options] in the root menu and then select the playback you want to change. While in this menu you can select any other playback to start editing that playback. The option are: Memory - Release Mask, Shape Size, Shape Speed, Curve; Chase - Loop / Stop on Final Cue, Play Direction, Cues Linked, Renumber Cues. The release mask allows you to set which attributes will be released to their default state when the playback is killed. You can also set this using the Attribute bank keys. The curve defines how the attribute values will change when the playback is faded in. - Individual fixture attribute times:
You can now set different attribute times for each fixture in a cue. To change the times on a specific fixture you first need to edit times on the cue so select [Edit Times] and the playback you want to edit. You should now notice that all the fixtures in the cue are selected and the selected playback pulses. To change the fixtures you want to edit the times on simply change the selection using the handle selects. Please note that while in edit times it will only allow you to select fixtures in the current cue. Now select the attribute you wish to edit the times on using the attribute bank select keys. It is useful to also have the HUD open at this point as the current times for each fixture are shown. Pressing the [All] key in this menu will select all fixtures in the cue being edited. - Stop and go chase with flash and swop keys:
You can now use the swop and flash buttons to stop and start a chase. To get this option you must enable it in Key Profiles. Turn the key to system and select [Key Profiles]. Select [Edit Profiles] and the profile you want to edit. Select [Chases] and the key you want to put the option on. Select either Go or Stop to place this item on the selected button. Now you can use this button when the profile is selected to stop and go a running chase. - Always merge when editing a memory:
There is a new user setting that allows you to set whether an item is always merged when an item is being edited (you are overwriting the item). The default is for it to ask you whether you want to Merge or Replace the item. You can access the user setting by holding down the [Shift] key and selecting [User Settings]. The options are [Prompt for Merge or Replace], [Always Merge], [Palettes Always Merge]. - Merge Cue/Palette shortcut:
If you are editing a cue or palette by overwriting an existing cue or palette you can press the playback select key again to merge the item. This makes it quicker to edit an item than having to select [Merge] from the softkey menu. - Change cue fixture order:
The fixture order of a cue determines the order in which items such as fixture overlap are applied. If a fixture is first in the order then it will be the first one to run when an overlap is applied. The order also allows you to pair fixtures by giving them the same fixture order and causing them to move together. The fixture order is set in the [Edit Times] menu of the playback. Select [Fixture Order] and then use the fixture select keys to add fixtures to the current step. Press [Next Step] to edit the next step or type in a step number to jump to a specific step number. Each time you move to a new step the fixtures in that step will be selected. Please note that a fixture can only exist in one step and must exist in a step, so you can only remove it from a step by adding it to a different step. - Temporary chase speed:
When changing the speed of a connected chase you can now define whether this speed is temporary and lost when the show re-loads or permanent and is saved in the show. To set the speed adjustment to be temporary, go to the user settings menu Shift + [User Settings] and set the option to [Connected View Sets Temporary Speed] the default is [Connected View Sets Chase Speed]. From now on any changes to the chase speed on the wheels will only be saved in the show if you select [Save Temporary Speed] in the [Edit Times] menu. - Fixture attribute fan:
When controlling a fixture attribute on the wheels, pressing the blue [Fan] key will cause the attribute values to fan out. The fan LED will come on to indicate you are in fan mode and pressing the key again takes you out of fan mode. - Chase speed in seconds user option:
A user setting has been added to change the way chase speeds are displayed between BPM and seconds. To change the chase speed display to seconds press Shift + [User Settings] and change it to [Tempo Units Seconds] the default value is [Tempo Units Beats Per Minute (BPM)]. - View fixture patch:
The fixture patch view allows you to see what fixtures are patched on the console, where they are patched and at what DMX address. You can open the fixture patch view by selecting [View] followed by [Fixture Patch]. You should now be able to see a table on the LCD screen showing all your fixtures. The list of fixtures can be filtered by typing in a search term. You can also use the wheels to scroll around the list and select different fixtures. As you select a fixture its handle will be highlighted by a pulsing LED. The best part though is that you can edit virtually anything in the table. First press [Edit] to put it into edit mode and use wheels A and B to scroll to the item you want to edit. Then just simply press enter and start typing. Please note that some values are input in the following form; Handle Number: {Page}.{Index}, DMX address: {Universe}.{Address}. The last thing to mention is that you can choose which columns are displayed by selecting [Columns] and choosing which columns to hide or show.

- Unable to include all chase steps:
When you include a chase step it would not allow you to include all steps in the chase. The last step and the first step would display an error instead of allowing you to include the step. - Flash/Swop does auto connect:
When flashing or swopping a chase the chase would not auto-connect. - Macro menu always latches:
The macro menu would always return to the macro menu when running a macro rather than exiting to the root menu. - Changing fixture page, disconnected the connected chase:
If you had a chase connected and moved to a different fixture page the chase would become disconnected. This has been changed so the chase remains connected. - Edit group and palette menu does not allow you to enter a group number greater than 10:
If you tried to enter a numeric number in the edit group or palette menu which contained more than two digits it would prevent you from entering the second digit. This meant you could not edit numeric groups or palettes above 10. - Merging a palette when selecting the palette by number would not work:
If you were editing a palette and you selected the palette by number it would appear to complete but not perform the edit. - Shapes running across multiple shape steps would reset on every step:
When running the same shape across multiple chase steps instead of the shape continuing to run across all the steps it would reset the shape to the start on every step. This would mean that instead of having the shape run smoothly across all steps it judders on each step. - Sometimes after loading a show the HUD legends would not be displayed:
Occasionally when you loaded a show the Head Up Display legends would not appear until you changed the fixture page. - Poor response speed when swopping allot of playbacks at once:
If you where swopping allot of playbacks at once the response speed of the swop would diminish. - Head Up Display (HUD) update from page change would cause delay in firing chases:
With the HUD open and after a fixture page change any chases would be blocked from firing until the HUD had updated. If you had allot of fixtures patched this could be a considerable delay. - Clear would not remove included items:
After you have included a palette or cue the clear button would not clear the programmer unless you first added something else to the programmer. - Clear stops timed palettes:
Pressing the clear button during the fade of a timed palette would cause the palette to stop fading. The palette now continues to the end of the fade even if you press clear. - Chases with overlapping intensity steps jump slightly:
If a chase contains two steps with the same fixture at the same intensity, instead of the intensity being constant it would jump slightly. - Preset fader does not level match with playbacks:
If a fixture had an intensity level from a playback and you raise the preset fader for that fixture, instead of the intensity increasing when the preset fader was higher than the playback level it jumped down to the level of the preset fader. - Quick palettes overridden by chases:
If you have a chase running and you fire a quick palette the next step in the chase would override the quick palette values. It should grab control of the fixture and prevent the chase from modifying the fixture. - When you moved a held handle the HUD would not reflect the change:
If you moved a playback that was held it would not update the HUD to show the playback in its new location. - Moving an item to the same location on a different page when held did not work:
If you moved any item to the same handle but on a different page it would not let you move the item if the original handle was held. - A running chase stops being held to the current page after moving:
If you moved a running chase the handle would stop being held and would disconnect if it was connected. - Replacing a palette would break any links to playbacks:
Replacing a palette would break any links that palette had to a playback. This would mean that any playbacks containing that palette would not be updated when the palette changed. - Exiting the patch menu with the patch key:
Pressing the [Patch] key in the patch menu would not exit from the menu. - Recording steps in chases where a previous step included an intensity but the next step only includes another attribute in record by channel mode would not work:
A bit difficult to explain but if you record the first step of a chase with intensity at full but the next step with only colour and no intensity, when you run the chase the intensity will stay on for the second step. This only happens if you record the steps by channel. - Setting chase speed and xfade to zero stops the chase and you can not restart:
Changing both the speed and xfade to zero would stop the chase and it would never restart. - Adjusting speed and xfade of a running chase was not smooth:
If you changed the speed or xfade of a running chase it would cause the fades to be random and some steps to stick on while you where moving the wheels.

- 'Include' fixtures are highlighted:
When you include a cue the fixtures in that cue are highlighted with the fixture LEDs and HUD while in the include menu. - Added [Append Step] to the record chase menu:
An [Append Step] option has been added to the record chase menu. This means that if you are recording a chase on fixture page 1 but have moved to fixture page 2 to select some fixtures you can still add a step from the softkey menu. - Macros now run on fixtures selected in solo mode:
When you are in solo select mode from pressing next and previous fixture keys, if you run a macro it will run on the single fixture instead of the entire selection. - Selection starts again when recording more than one group:
When recording multiple groups the selection will be reset after creating a new group. This means that if you go to select new fixtures for the next group the old fixtures will be deselected. - DMX address is reset to first available address when you change the universe:
If you change the DMX universe when patching fixtures; it now sets the DMX address to the first available address on that universe. - Connected chase view on LCD updates immediately when you change the legend of a step:
If you change the legend of a step that is being shown in the connected chase view on the LCD screen it now updates the legend immediately in the chase view. - Load show menu now allows you to search for a show:
In the load show menu you can now type in the name of a show to filter the lists of show names in view. This makes it much easier to quickly find a show and load it. - When patching a fixture the name of the fixture to be patched is displayed:
Once you have selected the fixture you want to patch it displays the name of the fixture you are patching in the prompt. This makes it easier to identify what type of fixture you are patching and whether you are patching the correct fixture. - Playbacks now level match:
When a playback has been previously raised on a page and you are returning to that page but the playback fader has been moved it will now level match the fader before the fader gains control over the playback. This prevents the playback level suddenly jumping to the level of the fader. - Edit fixture user number:
The ability to edit a fixtures user number has been added to the repatch fixture menu and the set legend menu. To change a fixture's user number; open the Patch menu and select [Repatch Fixture], select the handle of the fixture you want to edit and select [User Number] so the user number becomes editable. Using the numeric keypad, type in the new user number. If the user number is already in use then a warning icon will be displayed. To edit the user number of another fixture you just select that fixture. The set legend menu allows you to select a range of fixtures and edit the user number by incrementing it over the range of fixtures. - Numeric and View menus are now accessible in Run mode:
You can now type in numeric values and perform certain functions in run mode. As well as this the view menu is also accessible in run mode. - Highlight edit palette handle:
When you are editing a palette the LED of the handle being edited pulses to indicate which palette you are editing. - Streamlining of edit palette menu:
The Store Palette menu has been reorganised to fit on one page. The options to set the user number and provide a legend remain the same and there is a toggle to control whether a shared or normal palette will be recorded. By default the console will work out whether a shared or normal palette is required by inspecting the contents of the programmer; if all the fixtures of the same type have the same values it will select shared, otherwise it will select normal. A magic wand icon indicates that the console has set the state automatically. If you override this selection a user icon is displayed to show it is locked in a user selected state. The Set Mask button and the attribute bank buttons allow you to set a mask for the palette. Any attribute group not in the mask will not be recorded in the palette. There are four options that determine what is recorded in the palette: [Channel in Programmer] - records just fixture controls that are tagged in the programmer. [Group in Programmer] - records all the fixture controls in any attribute group that has one or more channels in the programmer. For example if Cyan is in the programmer all Colour controls will be recorded even if they are not in the programmer. (The exception is Dimmer which will not be included with the intensity group unless it is tagged). [Group in Mask] - records everything not excluded by the mask. [Mixed] - records by group for Position and Colour but by channel for all other controls. - More intelligent step number suggestion when recording chases:
If you insert a step in a chase by typing 1.5 it will now suggest the next step as 2 instead of just incrementing by 1. - Search in shape menu:
You can now search for a shape in the select shape menu by typing in something like Pan to show all shapes with Pan in the name. - HUD highlights the item being edited:
When you are editing a playback and it is prompting you to merge or replace the HUD now shows the item in a different colour. - Added the ability to change fixture attributes in shape menu:
You can now select fixtures and change attributes while you are in the shape menu. This makes it easier to tweak the shape. - Recording a chase step with the same number gives you options to insert or merge:
When you are recording a chase, if you input a step number to record and that step number already exists then you are given the option to merge with the existing step; insert a new step or replace the existing step. - Quick Palette User Setting:
An option to disable quick palettes has been added. To change go to Tools->User Settings and tick 'Enable Global Quick Palettes' - Fixture Exchange:

- Playback flash does not release if you change page:
In program mode flashing a playback and holding the flash button whilst changing to a page that has a group or palette on that button causes the playback to remain live when the flash button is released. To kill the playback move back to the page the playback resides on and press the flash button. - Unfolding very large chases:
Unfolding very large chases of more than 200 steps of 60 fixtures starts to become slow. It is advised that large chases be split up. - Clear programmer after load show:
After loading a show some fixtures may enter the programmer at 0 intensity. Press Clear to clear the programmer after loading a show. - HUD does not always update on new or load show:
Occasionally the HUD may show blank after loading a large show or starting to patch a new show. If this happens change the fixture page or load a different VDU view and the HUD will refresh. - After running the Recovery CD opening the patch menu is slow:
The very first time patch is used after running the recovery CD the patch fixture menu may not open. If this happens enter patch Dimmer then renter patch fixture. - Repatch Crash:
If a patched fixture is repatched to DMX line 0 the software will crash. Do not attempt to use line 0. - OFF Invert:
Certain attributes will have their range inverted when set to OFF. Press OFF again to invert them back to their original values. - Mode 1 Intensities:
If the mode of a cue is changed from 1 to 0 whilst it is fired the intensity will remain on. Instead change the mode when the cue is killed. - Mode 1 Intensity Fade:
Mode 1 cues' intensity will not work correctly with delay causing problems fading in and out. - Can not save show after entering activation code:
After the Recovery CD has been run and an activation code has been entered Save show will not work until the console is restarted. It is very important to restart the console immediately after entering an Activation code.
