  • First Avolites D7 Consoles in Serbia

The first Avolites D7-330 and D7-215 consoles have arrived in the Balkans region – received by Belgrade, Serbia-based Avolites distributor, Light & Sound Design D.O.O. (LSD) – where they will be in action with the team led by Milan Scepanovic, demonstrating their massive power and great portability to customers and industry professionals alike.

LSD proactively distributes the full range of ROBE Group brands – Anolis, Artistic Licence, LSC, and of course, Avo – across all the Balkans countries (Serbia, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania) and the Robe brand itself in Serbia, Bosnia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.

It is great to have the first D7 models – to my knowledge – in the whole of southeast Europe! The consoles are powerful, flexible and portable and they look very cool! Given the general presence of Avolites here in the region, I think there will be plenty of interest in the D7 and we will be out there getting these great products in front of as many people as possible!

Milan Scepanovic, CEO, Light & Sound Design D.O.O.

The arrival of D7 follows hot on the heels of a three-day Avolites training workshop and seminar presented by Rogier Trok, the sales and technical key account manager for Avolites in mainland Europe.

This was attended by LSD customers and a range of other lighting practitioners, with a full house of 30 attendees coming to Belgrade from across the region and the industry.

The format offered one day of basic training on Avolites’ Titan software and philosophy, a second day of advanced training, and a third day focused on video elements, the Avolites media server range and the brand’s Synergy integration protocol, which assists the seamless dual control of lighting and video in one visual solution.

LSD has been distributing Avolites since early 2024, having started the previous year with Robe. They have worked hard and consequently enjoyed a huge success with these products in a highly competitive market.

Advantages for Avolites in the Balkans area include a strong historical presence. “There is a large and enthusiastic fan base here in the Balkans,” confirms Milan, explaining that the Avo brand has a great reputation for being among the most value-added, reliable and roadworthy lighting control systems.

“People here use Avo in +45°C heat and dust of the summer and at -15°C in the mountains during the winter events, and it just keeps working,” he explained.

Several lighting designers and programmers rocked up to the seminars with their own Titan Mobile consoles, and there are also some out there with older Pearl consoles which are still working well. “This is a great testament to illustrate how investing in quality gives outstanding value,” expands Milan, noting that it’s also impressive that spares and parts for these older products are still available from Avolites HQ in the UK.

LSD’s commitment to providing regular Avolites workshops is just part of the overall levels of product support that Balkans customers can expect. It is actually the company’s fourth Avolites training event hosted in a short time with the Avolites international technical team, and going forward, weekly sessions are planned in their spacious showrooms in central Belgrade.

Rogier also returns in July to train LSD’s own trainers, adding another first in the region in enabling the company to offer comprehensive official Avolites training independently.
