Light Craft, a Mumbai, India-based rental company and major production lighting supplier to the film and broadcast industry, has invested heavily in Avolites control, especially for its moving light systems.
Avolites has been a long-term control choice for Light Craft thanks to its power, flexibility, and stability, all of which help make their lighting crews as adaptable and efficient on site as possible, whatever the production.
The current inventory includes...
...three of Avolites’ flagship D9 consoles and one of the new D7-330s, which has just recently joined the inventory, plus around 30 smaller Avolites consoles – Pearls, Tiger Touches, Quartz, and Arenas, all of which have been supplied over the last 10 years by Avo’s Indian distributor, Integrated Entertainment Solutions (IES), headed by founder and owner Rasesh Parekh
Light Craft was founded in 2011 by CEO Arjun Singh, who pioneered the idea of getting moving and intelligent lights specified into the movie and commercials industry in India – a trend that soon caught on, grew and has sustained in this highly competitive and innovative market.
The extensive warehouse is in the Mumbai suburb of Goregaon, near Film City, where much of the buzz, excitement and Indian moviemaking action happens.

Light Craft project manager Rohan Tambe – also a lighting designer – explained that the straightforward logic and usability of the Avolites’ Titan software and programming architecture makes it perfect for high pressure situations in the world of commercials, films and television.
These are environments where things need to change quickly and often at short notice, so the whole concept of moving lights and flexible control has trailblazed a different mindset and approach to lighting over the last two decades.
What was historically a cumbersome, time-consuming operation involving lots of people and heavy kit is now – using moving lights and DMX control – a nimble, streamlined process that can be executed in minutes if the circumstances change … or the director wants to explore different ideas.
Light Craft’s working style is and always has been about finding swift and smart solutions for DoPs, gaffers and directors, and Avolites products help us achieve that goal.
Rohan Tambe, Project Manager, Light CraftPopular Avolites Titan features that Light Craft finds invaluable and popular include the Key Frame Shape Generator, a potent effects engine inside Titan software that assists with rapid programming across multiple fixtures.
Rohan feels that Avolites’ new console development represents a new era and is going in the right direction. He thinks that the hardware is appropriate “for any camera environment.”
Referring directly to the increased portability of the D7 and recent smaller ‘briefcase’ sized D3 series of products, he commented, “These consoles look cool and enable us to work fast and react quickly, which is at the essence of lighting on any set or project.”
He also mentions how the history and heritage of Avolites enhances its integrity, with 2026 in mind, Avolites’ landmark 50th anniversary!
As a company, Light Craft has a slew of talented technicians and programmers who have been using the Avolites control for some years and are familiar with the architecture, as well as very excited to see the brand growing and becoming more prominent once again.

Rohan underlines the importance of the local distributor in any brand relationship: “It’s about more than just doing business; our industry is people, service and relationship orientated, and we know that IES is there for us, whatever the time / day.”
IES offers training programmes and initiatives for Avolites users on which Light Craft has capitalised and now has their own trainers to guide new programmers joining the team.
“The Avo system is straightforward to learn and easy to use, the show files are rock solid, and it enables us to react fast and efficiently when lighting changes are needed,” concluded Rohan.
